The Vespa Gang were one of the things about TBOBF I didn't mind. It's Tatooine. It's kids with nothing better to do on a desert planet with limited entertainment options and resources. It's a nod to George Lucas' love for the car and racing cultures of his youth in California. I got it from the moment I saw them.

Yup, same here. Felt that connection back to American Graffiti. Liked it and it made me smile.

Yeah, they were cool, but the slow chase through the streets was pretty ridiculous.
20 minutes and counting....

I was neutral toward the bike gang in general, but that pathetic chase was really annoying, it made them seem totally useless and the chase itself felt like a waste of time. It might be one of worst, if not the worst, action scenes in Star Wars.

Okay, first two episodes down. I'm pleasantly impressed. A far more Prequel Era vibe and the overall feel and execution of the series more closely resembles Andor than any of the other four existing live-action shows.

The episodes don't really end like they're episodes, they feel more like act breaks.
I feel like this is going to be like Andor where it flows better when binged

It was pretty good. I was surprised to see Venestra in it. I assumed she would be dead at this time but she was rather young in the High Republic novels and we don't know how long her species live.
I like the girl Padawan. She sounds very English. When she speaks I'm just reminded of the Harry Potter movies.
I take it the "master" in question is Darth Tenebrous. That could be the EU connection they were referring to.
