Horror Resurgence

Looking back at 2025, I realize that I watched more horror movies and read more horror fiction last year than I have in a very long time.

My Christmas viewing was mostly ghost stories and horror/thriller TV series. I stumbled upon M.R. James during Victober, but I watched his film adaptations during Christmas time. I've been mainly consuming horror/thrillers. Typically, during Christmas times, I'll watch classic Christmas films and some new Hallmark films. This year that didn't really happen despite being able to get Hallmark+ for free via Hoopla.

I do wonder if we'll get spooky Trek.

Of course, I'll watch the PITT this month, but everything else I'm watching is a horror or thriller film/series.

Anybody else get the impression that horror/thriller films/series are in right now?

SINNERS and WEAPONS are good quality. And since both involve horror, there's already pushes for sequels.

THE LONG WALK wasn't bad, though the novel is prpbably even more chilling in the end.
