Really liking the different colors of the core.
Spent some time detailing in between story edits today. I feel comfortable with the detail level in the 'Warp Core' room. These test renders aren't complete. It's only about half-complete, hence the graininess but it gets the idea across wonderfully.I think I'm going to use different material on the two wall brace rings that run around the upper portion of the room. It just doesn't come across the way I thought it would.
So checklist for Engineering to be finished:
Engineer's Office
Monitor Room and Jefferies Tube Access
Engineering Console LCARS
I finally understand the two big globular frames and tube connection in the early Phase II set pictures. I wonder whether a special effect was to light up the tube, or if it was a translucent tube was going to be put on the outer surface with lights inside? Or nothing but painted metal?More play with the 23rd Century version... Also playing with materials. Made the flooring a rubber grip style variety for Engineering. Also started playing with the blue lighting that would be throughout the Engineering hull of the ship.

Love the Phase II warp core integration! YES!More play with the 23rd Century version
Rebuilt the consoles and walls in the entryway to Engineering, added in the reinforced brace. Need to redesign the wall that the brace is on because you can see the U shaped doorframe of the 24th century version poking through with the doors in the correct position.

Perfect! You guys who model not just the exterior, but the interiors of the universe starships/stations/etc. are truly amazing. It is so immersive and grand in scope.
Do you have any pics of your Babylon 5 work? I love B5, and was thinking of doing some interiors myself![]()
Very nice Babylon 5 design! Always loved their design aesthetic. You could tell they were working on a tighter budget than their colleagues on Star Trek, but I'm amazed at what they were able to pull off. Your design looks like something right out of the show. Cool!![]()
