Ten Forward Lounge - Miscellaneous General Chat & Welcome Thread

I started editing way back in 2001. My first Star Trek vid is from 2004. But its not that good and the video resolution is kinda bad.
These particular examples are more recent vids.
The Pink Floyd - Echoes vid is best one in my opinion. Its 23 mins long, but its 23 awesome minutes of Trek.

I would love to see some videos of yours. :-)

I will definitely watch your Star Trek Rock Opera, but it will have to wait a few days because I got tons to do these next few days and its 34 mins long :)

Well, I bought my first Star Trek book, Star Trek comic pack, and Star Trek comics today, so I decided I may as well join a Star Trek forum and go full Trekkie.

Sup.

...at least you're not suffering from writer's block the way I am. Not fun.
Well.... I was a creative writing major in college, and my plan was to write an ensemble postapocalyptic scifi-fantasy series. I never did... because what started out as a flood of idea seeds suddenly dried up. So it could be argued that I've had writer's block since 1993.

I made a few Stargate videos but this is the only Star Trek video I have. Humor / whumping:

Hello fellow sentients,

I'm Brian and I'm from Earth by way of Kentucky, USA. I've been a Trekker all my life (in fact, I vaguely remember watching TAS as a little kid during its original run). While other kids dreamed of jumping in x-wing fighters and blowing up death stars, I wanted to explore strange new worlds and boldly go where no one had gone before.

Although I have grown roots in other fandoms (DC, NCIS, BSG), Star Trek is the one closest to my heart. The themes it has consistently represented call out the best in humanity and are now needed more than ever.

Other personal info: I've had a couple of major transitions in the past two years -- a spinal cord injury and the loss of my job in the journalism industry -- that I'm still navigating through. I'm also an aspiring fiction writer, having gotten my start on alternate history boards and fanfic forums (I don't write to 'ship', I write to tell interesting stories.

::waves hello::
Hi everyone! The name is Alex, and I'm a 36-year-old from Merry Old England. Pretty much a life-long trekkie here, yet I've never got around to joining TrekBBS (which i've known of and heard about for YEARS) until recently. I love each series for it's own unique qualities, but that also doesn't mean I don't bitch about certain episodes or plot points at times. I'm tenatively looking forward to watching Discovery at the end of the month, as well.
When I'm not working my near-to-full-time job, I'm a writer. It started off as Trek fanfiction, expanded into writing original prose, and then Buffy, Charmed and Smallville prose. I then started writing Trek and Doctor Who audio scripts, which eventually lead me into writing what they call "virtual series" script-style series. At the moment, I have a Trek audio series being produced, two Smallville virtual series projects, and very recently an original Trek virtual series, which I 'air' on my own weebly site, and have just linked up with the Trek Writer's Guild. Working on all of them is a bit of a juggle, but I somehow manage it! :D
I've also been lucky enough to be involved in several 'fanfilm' projects, both Trek and Who-based. I've acted in the finale of the "Star Trek: Hidden Frontier" series, the follow-on movie "Operation: Beta Shield", and played Lt. Keran Azhan in "Star Trek: Intrepid".
Looking forward to being active on this forum, it's been a long while since I posted on a Trek-friendly site...

Welcome to both Brian and Alex! Great to have you guys here. I'm also a writer as well as an artist, with published work online and scripts for Trek fanfilms soon to go into production.
