He made a thread to address the issues concerning Regeneration. Ok, yes, He said "Sussman responds to Cogley" but dude, he was really responding to all the fans of the show who expressed their opinions in many other threads. Not just to you personally.

Your comments were the same as many other members. He addressed everyone's questions about Regeneration by choosing your review to use.

Never mind, JohnM. Your continued failure to respond to reason, logic, and evidence only confirms my initial fear that I should never have tried to discuss this with you in the first place.

Rather than waste any more time on this, I'm going to just cut you loose and let you continue to do whatever it is that you do.

Dude, did you not see ALL the threads about Regeneration?? Did you not see the same opinions as yours?? There's a few members who have the same opinion as you do. They also started threads too. Have you counted all the Regeneration threads? Have you read all the Regeneration threads? Have you seen your opinion used over and over??

I have.

Mr Sussman used your review to explain the story to the fans who disagree or dislike the episode.

It wasnt a personal response just to your opinions. There's other members with the same opinions.
He's not going to go and post in every Regeneration thread and explain his opinion.

You're a wise man Samuel. I don't think facts are going to make any difference here.

Thankyou Mr. Sussman for taking the time to post here, yet again, in response to items posted in these forums. It is a SHAME that this thread was taken so far off-topic, and I sincerely hope that you aren't "scared away" from posting here in the future due to some of the said posts.

I can tell from reading your posts thus far that you are open to CONSTUCTIVE CRITICISM and hope that you can see past the views of some and continue to post on these boards.

I am looking forward to seeing this episode when it is (finally) released here in Australia, especially having read the various reviews on it (positive and negative) and your comments based on some of the mentioned concerns.

Hoping to see your posts in the future,
Sloansect31 - Brisbane, Qld., Australia

Despite everything Sussman explained away, the episode is still a continuity error, so far. The simple fact that Archer and Starfleet have very clear and detailed files and pictures of the borg mean that Starfleet knows who these beings are and should not be surprised come the 23rd and 24th Centuries.

This subject needs to be explained in a future episode. Have the Admiral say something about the files. Perhaps they get destroyed in "The Expanse"?

I'd just like to say something about Section 31, since it tends to come up as a Deus Ex Crapula explanation for lost data:

Conspiracy groups aren't secretive for the sake of secrecy. They don't hide things simply because they can. Section 31 is a coherent, motivated group that wouldn't hide data for 200 years without a reason.

If anything they would want to publicize the threat the Borg represent. The threat of obliteration would justify a massive buildup of military forces (sort of the like the flood of new ship designs after Wolf 359), thus supporting Section 31's agenda.

I've got a little question about Regeneration (as I haven't actually seen it due to geography issues) about the shuttle that the borgified scientists use to leave Earth. Was it, well, theirs? Was it sitting on the research site waiting to take off? Or did they hijack it from someone else?

Another question - did Phlox mention the possibility of freezing himself until a proper cure was developed? We know that cryogenics technology in this time period is more than capable of icing someone over and then defrosting them a couple of centuries later...

The Borg took the transport ship that the excavation team arrived in. It was parked at their base camp.

No, it was all or nothing for Phlox...

Archer: How are you feeling?

Phlox: Better than I anticipated. The nanoprobes seem to be having trouble with my immune system. But they're persistent little fellows; it won't be long before they adapt.

Archer: Any progress finding a treatment?

Phlox: Possibly. I've been attempting to treat the infection as if it were...well, an infection. Then it suddenly occurred to me, this isn't a biological problem; I need to think like an engineer, not a physician. I extracted several of the devices and subjected them to different forms of radiation. Their intra-molecular processors appear to be vulnerable to omicron particles. But, if one of the nanoprobes survives, it will start to multiply again. So, I'll need to program a rather excessive dose. The side effects will not be pleasant, to say the least. You may want to keep this, in the event I'm unsuccessful.

( He hands the Captain a hypospray )

Archer: What is it?

Phlox: A cure of sorts. It contains a neural toxin that will terminate my synaptic functions within a matter of seconds.

Archer: Aren't you jumping the gun a little?

Phlox: I have no intention of turning into one of those cybernetic creatures.

All I Really Need to Know I Learned from Watching Star Trek

Mr Sussman, I did not watch the episode, because to be brutally honest, I didn't need to. It's not against you personally, but as you can probably tell, I stand for the downfall of this show because I feel its doing damage to the continuity of the previous 35 years or so of the Franchise. So therefore I want to congratulate you in helping my cause a little.

Your episode really does not tell us anything new about the Borg in the slightest. The only thing we truly learn is that sometimes they like to omit certain important details at certain important times, like their name

All this episode seems to have done, is blown wide open some of the very small plot-holes that First Contact left behind, and has done more damage than ever before (that is if you accept this show as Canon, which it aint). As cynically as ever, I can only say that this episode, with all of the weak and silly little justifications taken into account and dismissed as pure and utter nonsense, is nothing more than a cheap attempt at a ratings boost, which hardly did anything to the overall ratings. They may have nudged slightly, but really did nothing at all.

There is simply no need for a Borg episode in a prequel, and instead you and the talentless people above you should really have concentrated on moving away from 24th century races and done something different.

I really look forward to the season 3 episode featuring Species 8472.

Don't you mean the Doomsday Machine? :D

Why would you be waiting? You dont watch the episodes anyway. You read what other people say and then make some off the wall comment like what you just said.

Why not watch the episode then judge it?

I think was my favorite bit of dialogue in the entire episode

I want to thank you, Mr. Sussman, for giving the final word on the 2153 Starfleet encounter with that most tenacious of foes, The Borg. You have settled the hash of every crackpot on the board.

Yeah, but he hasn't said anything about why the show is a failure in the rating, why its being revamped for next year, and why the general Trek community wants to see the show die. Gushers.

There really is no way round that central truth.
To think of all the wonderful interesting stuff that could be come up with to do with the formation of the UFP and meeting new species and to see this show returning for the umpteenth to old ideas is a real dissapointment.
The show MAY be OK to watch (can't see it yet, being in the UK) but on principle, going back to Borg is still a bad idea.

You and Who? Stewey and a handful of other members??

 Ok, whatever.

You do realize there's Trek Fans all around the world. I guess you're speaking for everyone on this planet?

yep and that includes the 8 million americans who watched "broken Bow" and gradually stopped watching enterprise. face it. it's lost a lot more viewers than it currently has. so i'd agree that the "General Trek Community" has given up on enterprise

Because its a fat, not an opinion. This isn't all Sussman's fault either. He cannot save the show (as was evidenced in his writing style). I know he really doesn't care what we think because he is getting paid a lot of money and hob nobbing out in Hollywood. But, if he is really a writer who cares aout quality and isn't just a shill, he needs to know and I don't have a problem telling him that his work is subpar and hurts the Franchise that fans choose to love.

What I post here won't change anything. Its nothing more than venting. But, Enterprise is not a compelling ahow, is not consistent with the Star Trek Universe, nor is it worthy of a true writer (unless all the wroter cares about is getting paid). I don't know Sussman and no one else here does either. He may be a very warm, charming, and engaging man IRL. I cannot/won't comment on that. But, since he has written a story and made it public to be critiqued, I have no problem saying that his story was flawed and never should have been filmed.

Could I do a better job? Yes I could - not everyday churning out stories, but I could guarantee at least 3 compelling stories a year. I would like to know if Mr. Sussman has a grueling day in-day out schedule or does he get time to write.

I disagree. Star Trek, back in its hayday, before the infamous presence of Berman infected the series was overall rather successful. In fact one of the leaders in the Star Trek series Star Trek 4, did quite well, among some of the other movies.

Boy, you relly ARE a clueless idiot at times. If you ever bother to read the credits, you'd know that Rick Berman has been a part of the production staff on TNG since Season 2, and was a main producer from Season 3 onward. Kind of blows the above statement to bits as if this were the case, then by your logic the entire Star Trek franchise has 'sucked' from TNG season 2 onward.

If you're going to argue something you may want to get your facts straight before opening your mouth....OOOOPS I FORGOT ho I was talking to here.
