Supernatural: Season 10 (Spoilers!)

I feel the same way. I heard some complaints about Dean just being a total jackass all around now, but let's face it, he's still himself, only slightly more sociopathic. I really like that TPTB are taking chances, so let's hope it sticks for a while.

Oh yeah, Crowley lampshading the awful, pointless Moose/Amelia romance was the best bit. Also: "I'll cherish our Flickr albums forever?" Comedy gold.

More Crowley = better show. That's just science. It's not science, but it is a fact.

I hope at some point sam and dean revert back to being brothers, with a sense of humor. I can't really stomach too much of this daytime soap crap.

Nooooooooooo! /Darth Vader.

I want Dean to go on like this forever. It was great seeing him going all "I told Sammy to let me go" and just driving on. Take care of yourself, Squirrel, and BE AWESOME. Leave that emo nutcase behind.

Well, realistically speaking, I don't think it'll stick, but for now I'll just enjoy the ride.

I enjoyed the episode. Of course any episode with Crowley is at least good, so getting a lot of him here helped. The scenes with him and Dean were great. Sam's stuff was OK, but nothing overly interesting.
I liked seeing them deal with the aftermath of last season's Angel stuff.

I wonder if Cas will take Daniel's path and say, "Screw Heaven; I'm staying here." That seems to be where he's headed.

They're both emo. They went from lovable characters in seasons 1-4 to 2 of the most one dimensional human beings on the face of the planet. I swear Ackles brought the writers from Days of our lives with him to Supernatural.

Yeah...I used to be a fan in the early seasons but dropped out around the beginning of season six because I absolutely hated the soulless Sam storyline. I recently caught up on a few season 7,8 and 9 episodes thanks to Netflix and I honestly kind of liked the leviathan storyline. Season 8 and 9 not so much. I've never really liked Dean, and he just became insufferable in season 8 (the hypocrisy of expecting Sam to pine and fret over Dean for a year when Sam honestly thought Dean had died and gone to heaven, and then becoming all buddy-buddy with a vampire and killing a boy's mother in front of him and lying to Sam all season long) and then became even worst in season 9 (why can't he ever let Sam make his own choices about his own life?!). The feeling still lingers for me as well, these aren't the same characters from the early seasons. They've basically turned in to chariactures of themselves.

Anyway I watched the new episode last night...and wow has this show gotten even more awful. My loathing for Dean has increased even more, and that whole episode was just a mess. I don't think I'll be watching next week. This horse needed to be let out to pasture a while ago.

Sam never thought that Dean was dead. Sam knew that Dean was trapped in purgatory and made no effort to save his brother. Instead of saving his brother he started dating a girl, got a dog, and thought about going to college. Complete character assassination for Sam's character.

and then becoming all buddy-buddy with a vampire and killing a boy's mother in front of him and lying to Sam all season long)

Buddy-buddy with a vampire who saved his life and refused to hurt humans. Killing a monster who murdered humans and fed them to her son.

and then became even worst in season 9 (why can't he ever let Sam make his own choices about his own life?!).

Because that would have killed him. As far as Dean knew, Ezekiel was a trusted friend of Castiel and he had no reason to think that the angel had ulterior motives.

I actually think it was a logical evolution of Dean's character. He spent all his life unhappy, doing everything for family and duty and the right thing, and now, he's all "fuck everyone, don't tell me what to do". Even though I don't want him fucking up Sam or, God forbid, Crowley, I think that the way he's behaving makes sense.

I don't think they're one-dimensional at all.

Yes, I thought the leviathan arc made an interesting change - who doesn't love the Turducken sandwich? That season also saw the introduction of Garth
(who they ruined in season 9 by turning into a ww)
Can I ask why you didn't like soulless Sam? I found him funny and quite interesting, the ways in which it made him both better and worse as a hunter. I love when Dean said, "Wow, you have no instinct."

I honestly don't get it when people say they like season 5 but not the more recent ones. If you said "I like seasons 1 and 2 because of the monster-of-the-week thing and no actual big bads or magical mcguffins", that would make sense.

But as of season 4, this is basically the show's formula: Big Bad shows up, Sam and Dean have relationship drama, everyone looks for the mcguffin of the season, bondage chair torture and witty one-liners ensue, the big bad gets killed only to reveal a bigger bad (or, alternatively, someone previously on the brothers' side turns out to have manipulated them like the morons they are), who then leads the season into a cliffhanger.

This has literally happened every year since season 4. Why like that and 5 but not the rest? That makes no sense to me.

I was very dissapointed in the premier this season, boring, too slow, didn't gel right with me, just didn't feel right. Now, however, this second episode, much much better. They should have compressed the 1st and second ep into one episode, or just started with the second episode.

No! Demon Dean was the best thing to happen to this show in years. If Sam cures him after only two episodes I'm going to be pissed.

Didn't look like it in the episode 3 preview, but then again you never know. I sure as hell don't want Dean going off on a rampage and killing off everyone else.

I don't watch previews. Too many spoilers. And personally, that's what I want. What's the point of turning Dean into a demon if he doesn't get to do a little bit of rampaging?
