Supernatural: Season 10 (Spoilers!)

So how old is Cole supposed to be exactly? As a child he saw an adult Dean kill his father, and now he's a war vet with a family.

Also nice of Sam to feel bad about not being able to save the guy at the end. The 500 demons he killed in human form though, no big deal.

Let's say the Winchester brothers are probably close to the actors' ages (mid to late 30s), if not a bit older. Cole could be seven to ten years younger than Dean.

Dean said he was 26 in the pilot episode, so he's either 35 or 36 now. And Sam is four years younger, making him 31 or 32. (Can't remember their exact birth dates at the moment.)

How many episodes are left in this season? Was just thinking if this was the last season then this would of been an awful way to go out. Has anything really happened this season that i forgot about?

I would of rather Dean been a demon all season than what we have gotten so far.

So will probably quit watching this show after this seaon as i dont see next season any different from this one. Show needs a big shake up if its going to keep running or just cancel this and do a spin off.

I will keep watching, as I'm a fan. Then I'll buy the DVDs. But I imagine not many episodes will rate a rewatch. Hopefully it'll be possible to watch just the decent ones and still get a coherent story.

Spin off? What, like that lame episode about monster/gangsters?

It seems strange that Dean and Sam haven't been seeking out witches to do another body-rewinding spell (perhaps one that only turns Dean's body back five years). It's the only thing proven to make the mark disappear. Though, one wonders if the mark would pop-up once his body reached that same age again...

Watched the Khan-worm episode (they weren't really Khan-worms). It was (surprise!) a very solid episode, except for the cheesiness at the end. Cole really is too old for the part though - he looks the same age as S&D.

We are 2/3 through season 10 and it still feels like the show is spinning its wheels. I suspect that the whole point of this season is that Crowley turns "bad" at the end, so next season will be the boys vs Crowley. Maybe that season will be full of mediocre filler eps too! Yay!

This season has a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 5 reviews, mostly just of the premiere - but one misguided person must have really loved that werewolf episode.

The Metatron arc last season was a lot better than this season's Mark of Cain storyline. Also, the standalone fillers were more interesting

Yeah, I would have to agree. As a whole, I found the Metatron arc a great deal more interesting. This season doesn't even seem to have an "arc"--it's more like a meandering squiggle.

What has happened this season that is arc related?

1. Dean stopped being a demon in ep 3. They've vaguely talked about finding a cure, but only did something about it in ep 14, which was a dead end (and Cain died). Now Dean says he's okay having the Mark, and Sam is broody.

2. Crowley's mother turned up in ep 7. She moved into Hell in order to manipulate Crowley to do ... something (possibly star in a daytime soap opera).

3. Angel Hannah - remember her? She hung around Castiel for the first three episodes, then went back to heaven in ep 7.

4. Metatron is still a prisoner, still being vaguely threatening. Has appeared in two eps this season.

5. It's occasionally mentioned that Cas's grace is running out.

The following looked like they might be important, but now seem like dead ends:

1. Cole turned up in ep 2 with a vendetta against Dean. Reappeared in ep 7 and turned to the good side. Special guest appearance in ep 15.

2. Castiel tracked down his daughter in ep 9. She hasn't been seen since ep 10.

If we hadn't seen Rowena before Hannah disappeared, I'd raise the possibility that Rowena is actually Hannah undercover for Heaven. Sadly, this idea is probably too interesting for the show as it is now.

Great news!
I finally watched last week's episode this morning, and thought it was OK. We didn't get any real arc movement (big surprise), but the stuff with the Kahn worms was fairly interesting. I don't mind Cole too much, but I do agree he does seem to old for the backstory they gave him. I think it would have worked better if Dean had killed his wife or kid or someone like that when he was already an adult.

YAY! I was watching "Weekend at Bobby's" today and thought, "God, I miss him!" Can't wait to see him again.

OK, this one was a decent ghost story;not great but pretty good. Nice to see Teryl Rothery, briefly, as Olivette. Also nice were the flashback sequences of the pyscho nun. But really, nothing new here. Just more filler.

Also, I liked the sign in front of the church: "He ain't heavy; he's my brother--the Hollies and Jesus Christ." Very appropriate.

^That was pretty much my opinion as well. The reveal of when the flashbacks were actually taking place was a pretty good twist.
So it looks like Rowena is going to be going after the Winchesters now. It'll be interesting to see what Crowley does once the shit hits the fan there.

We already know what's going to happen. In the final episode she'll have the Winchesters right where she wants them but won't kill them right away, allowing for them to escape and kill her and sending Crowley into a tailspin, or Crowley kills his own mother to protect them.

^As long as SOMEONE kills Rowena, I'll be happy.

I'd expect it to be Dean but it would be very much in character to have it be Crowley.

This episode was not very good.

The good: The case of the week was okay, and Dean's scene in the confessional was great.

The everything else: Long tedious conversations between nuns and between witches. And the nuns were mediocre actors. The witchy conversation only got interesting when Rowena got out her cauldron (or was it a wok?). The notion that the MoL have a stockpile of powerful witchcraft is interesting and has plot potential, but given this show's avoidance of spectacle I don't think we are going to see any awesome spell battles.

The boys' conversation about the Mark: They have had this conversation in every one of the last half-dozen episodes. Enough already!

I really didn't care for the nun episode. I really, really, really did not care in the slightest bit about that case and the endless flashbacks were just tedious.
