One thing I picked out of this review was the idea that the movie was supposed to take place over a week with the name of each day popping up on screen. That would have been kinda interesting. Maybe we'll get an extended cut with that idea put back in.
I liked that idea too. Apparently test audiences didn’t, though, for whatever lowest-common-denominator reason, and Gunn bowed to their preferences. At least those have been the rumors/reports.

The movie doesn’t suffer for not including the title cards, but it would have been a cool touch IMO.

I can think of two movies off the top of my head that tried a similar approach.
The Amityville Horror and The Shining.

See, something like that is absolutely fair and I wouldn't have liked that either (regardless of my own previously mentioned feelings about Krytpo).

That said, I'm surprised Gunn, who has previously demonstrated his anti-animal cruelty stance, would include such a scene in the first place.
I'm guessing he's also anti-shoot an innocent shop owner in the head but there's Lex doing it. ;)

Well Krypto is a superhero as much as superman. That means a villian might beat him up. It doesn't mean Gunn isn't anti animal cruelty. Most people are. It's just that villians are bad people and Ktypto being a super crime fighting dog is always in danger of being hurt or killed. With that said I get it. No one wants to see a dog beaten in a movie.

I agree. That said, it would have worked if Krypto had a scene where he kicked the Architects ass later on.

Just because a story panders to naive adolescent cynicism about the world doesn't make it a "realistic portrayal." MoS is a more superficial piece of entertainment than Superman.

You know, I love Supe's line about "I was hoping we could take it to an intergalactic zoo." It's a very sweet-natured evocation of the whole Silver Age comic book vibe - preposterous and extravagantly matter-of-fact.

It's funny that a lot of comic fans have historically hated the silver age DC because they could be silly of campy. But with all of that silliness and campiness the stories were entertaining more often than not. I've always been a big fan of DCs silver age and the great comic covers of that period.

Gutter trash of the lowest order. Avoid at all costs.

The first video is praising nerdrotic. I didn't watch the second yet.

I looked at nerdrotics channel. He has a ton of subs and views. He seems pretty successful. Looks like he's just an opinionated nerd like the rest of us. Lol

I enjoyed the movie, but it's definitely silly. I think Man of Steel is the better film but pretty much hated everything that came after that, so I'm hoping this jump starts a better string of DC movies.

He's got tons of subs and views the same way Alex Jones has followers. He's a Grifter Hack who freaks out anytime he sees a woman who isn't a useless shrieking damsel or a nonwhite in anything.

There's channels on both sides of the issue. I'm assuming we are talking about wokness in movies or TV? If so people can watch what they like or not watch if they don't. If it's written well it will be successful. If it stinks it will fail. Superman so far is successful. Probably because it's written well and has a good story(I haven't seen it yet. Im just saying what the majority of people seem to think. I hope it's good.) I'm not sure why one person's opinion on youtube affects people so much. 🤔
