Spoilers Supergirl - Season 1

Not only has a concrete casting announcement already been made for Season 2 (Linda Carter as the U.S. Peesident), Greg, Andrew, Melissa, and Chyler have all spoken about Season 2 being a reality.
I missed these news bits. Since I was behind on the show I stayed out of threads cause I didn't want to be spoiled. So Linda Carter is the US President. That's a nice bit of fanbait casting right there!

CBS has some conference type thingy in a couple of weeks where they announce that sort of stuff.
I don't think we'll hear an official confirmation before then but it seems very likely it will get renewed.

You can hit up the google machine for more gossip that SG could be moving over to the CW. Still no word if SG Season 1 will be re-run on the CW over the summer.

None of the series that CBS has already renewed are first-year series.

The only thing that has been said about the network's crop of Freshman shows came from Les Moonves, who said that the network was going to renew 5 of their 6 Freshman shows.

The decision on Supergirl's future has already been made for WEEKS at this point and conveyed to the people involved in the series, with said individuals making decisions and comments based on what they were told.

So is Lynda Carter as the President official now? Last I heard it was just a bit of dream casting on the part of the producers.

Well, we did hear two references to a female president in the last few episodes of this season, so maybe.

Both Greg and Andrew were speaking about Lynda's involvement as being a "done deal", so it definitely wasn't just 'dream casting'.

Supergirl is not moving to The CW. CBS has already renewed it; they're just waiting till the Upfronts to make the announcement.

Supergirl.TV has apparently identified the source of this nonsense about Supergirl leaving CBS: Tom Cavanagh.

Apparently he said that Supergirl was coming to Vancouver to film.

It's possible that CBS may be moving PRODUCTION of Supergirl to Vancouver, but the show ain't leaving the 'Eye Network' in terms of how it's broadcast.

It's not like he geographical separation has stopped them so far... And heck, enough of the stars of these shows still LIVE in LA anyway - or at least still maintain a house there.

Ohh, I was afraid they might move the production to Vancouver to save money. I'd be disappointed if that happened. I was just saying earlier today in another thread how much it can hurt a series to change its filming location, how it loses that sense of place it originally had. I like it that National City is so overtly and unapologetically Los Angeles. It'd be a shame to see it turn into Yet Another Vancouver.

The X-Files really suffered from moving locations. At that point in time Vancouver was a novelty and was as much a character in that series as the actors.

I believe it switched after the movie, when Duchuvny wanted to be a movie star and work out of LA. Last 4 seasons at least, were not in Vancouver.

It's funny - Vancouver is cheaper to film in yet it's one of most expensive (in not the most expensive) cities in Canada to live in.

There was chatter about summer CW reruns though

That would actually be a really good idea to offer a chance to catch up prior to season 2 to people who dismissed the show right off the bat but who might be curious to see it after hearing about the largely positive reception it had.
