I was hoping for at least season two before Red K.
No, no and....no.
That would be horrible. Its bad enough Kara looks up to someone as bankrupt as Cat, but having her pursue such a disgusting character like Lord would be a senseless move.
Prediction: I have a feeling after Red Kara tosses Cat from the balcony, in order to explain her behavior (post effect), she will (stupidly) tell Cat she's Supergirl / what happened, and with that, everyone in the city knows the non-secret.
Stop being a sour puss.

Red K--as it seems to work in the episode teaser--is like someone slipping you some bad drugs: erratic, nasty, out-of-character behavior. That's not fun after the collateral damage to those around her, even if they understand what happened.
I was thinking more on the lines of: Alex - Maxwell, Maxwell - Supergirl. Red K is fun.

Someone who claimed to have attended Paleyfest said the new episode was screened. If this individual's story was true, something significant happens in the episode. That's all i'm saying. 
So...definitely seeing a pattern in which Earth-SG gets to be the home for Legiony stuff.

- Good episode. Red K isn't just fun, it's a fascinating look into being uninhibited, honest and real. ...until those unresolved demons come out and take over. I expected the episode to deal with it in that way and it did. This could have been a longer arc with a better resolution that wasn't so quick and easy but at least it touched on the fact that everything won't be right back to normal. Now let's see how they handle that.

Hank/JJ: Once again, Hank/JJ is the standout of the series. Honestly, the series would take such a leap forward if he was the star of the show, with Supergirl a supporting character. The significant moment (as seen at Paleyfest) was Hank revealing his true identity and the arrest.
Crane: Obviously feeling betrayed, Crane still has to thank aliens for her not being six feet under. Considering the value and years of Hank's service, he cannot be written off...at least by a rational mind.
Red Kara: Like the effects the virus from TOS' "The Naked Time," RK brings out many of true feelings. Her revelation to Alex and James were telling and expected. Though some her dressing down of Alex was a bit unjustified, most of her analysis (after watching the relationship development) was not far from the truth--which Alex admitted. Long time in coming.
Kara: She's ready to tell James she's in love with him, but he is not ready. I can agree with this hesitation, only because the series cannot deliver the expected so soon after Lucy got the boot.
Cat: So, after what must be a personality aberration (which should be apparent to a....reporter--as it was to James), Cat instantly turns on SG? Even after being tossed from the building--but saved, it should have told her this was not some permanent change. Bad writing of a bad character. Further, if the character was not bad enough, the producers think cross promotion with the abysmal The Talk was a homerun. It was...of splattering crap.
Cat's "Any Republicans?" Sigh. Berlanti would deserve Trump to win in November.
Since firing Smythe will lead to a revenge plot (once transformed into Silver Banshee), perhaps Cat will run to SG, begging her to forget the media trashing.
Winn: Still being used, I see.
His "you killed miss Grant??" sounded like a cat having its tail pulled.
The alien: terrible make-up.

If you saw the coda with Cat and Supergirl, then you're not giving Cat enough credit.
For a moment, I thought they might do the "inner struggle/two Supergirls battling it out" route but I guess they can't lift too much from other sources.
Pretty good character episode, I thought Cat showed some interesting layers and the red K brought some character moments to surface that would otherwise lay dormant.
The biggest flaw I had was the conspicuous absence of The Man of Steel. Did they mention why he wasn't called?

Cat was trying to save face, but she was still rattled, as if SG was--like flipping a switch--turned into a villain.
In-series, Superman can be referred to, but there would need to be a payoff of a visit if his cousin was in trouble. There's no way to avoid his not coming to help her. That's where the WB side comes in, because Dawn of Justice is only a week away, and that separated DC universe is the only place you will ever see any involved, full-on (not a shadow or hand) appearances from live action Superman.
They will not. That soap opera will drag on and on and on..........

It's nice that we are going to have some big ramifications from Kara's actions while under the influence of Red K. I was expecting everything to just be blown off once she was back to normal, but I should have known this wasn't that kind of show.
I loved Red Kara, Melissa Benoist did a great job there.
J'Onn shapeshiftig in public was a big surprise, I did not expect anything like that to happen so soon. It will be interesting to see where they go with the character now. I wonder if they're going to come up with some kind of a justification for him to keep using Hank Henshaw's appearance? I can't see them switching to a mask and/or CGI all the time with him.

That was quite a dramatic episode. Red Kryptonite brought out the worst in Supergirl, the way alcoholism and drug abuse have the same effect on people. But as Alex stated, there was some truth to what Kara said, as hurtful as her words were. I felt sorry for Hank, Alex, and Kara. Now Kara has to work hard to regain the trust, respect, and admiration of the people of National City.

I loved the episode as a whole, but have to say that one of the bigger highlights for me was Kara catching Winn and Siobhan having sex in that closet. It not only made for a really hilarious "aftermath" scene, it also added some dimension to Dark Supergirl!Kara getting Siobhan fired later on, and added some interesting new layers to Winn's character by demonstrating that he's got a bit of a wild side to him beneath the button-ups, ties, and cardigans.
I loved this episode. Benoist was great as bad supergirl (Basically everything I hoped) and the stuff between Supergirl and Cat reminded me of that great dynamic earlier in the season. This episode also featured my favorite line in the entire series.

2 weeks is the Flash crossover but next week just become much more interesting. How does a fallen hero gain the trust of a city back.
