Spoilers Supergirl - Season 1

Kryptonians according to Byrne:

In his run on Superman, John Byrne established that Clark burns 100% of everything he eats for energy.

Complete metabolizing means no waste.

No waste means no pee or poop.

No pee or poop means this conversation is less than pointless.

Hmm. During his FF run, Byrne had Reed invent a waste-free super-food to explain why the FF never needed to poop during, say, extended jaunts through the Negative Zone.

Does Byrne dislike the idea of superheroes pooping, or did he just not want to add toilet facilities to the Fantasti-Car? :)

I gots no idea. I'm just tellin' what I read.

But it is Byrne, so it's probably a little of both. Somebody probably asked him about Thing taking a leak at a sigining and he went apeshit. "They never go to the bathroom! They never will go to the bathroom! There! How do you like that?!! Huh!?" :)

Wow, I can't believe this was actually addressed in story.
This thread is almost making me want a book that addresses how different superheroes take care of their poop.

The title of that book should be:
"Does the Flash have the runs?"
:D
Hah!

I remember the Flash almost peed himself in JLA/Avengers because he didn't want to go to the john in the Watchtower because the Watcher was watching the Watchtower. :D

Anyone know why many of these Berlanti superhero shows have these crazy schedule?

Supergirl had 1 week in January, then went to repeats, then came back for a bit, now not even a repeat (Big Bang according to the guide I saw)...when is the next new episode???

If it was the storyline I'm thinking of with their multi-issue exploration of the Zone, then he had to come up with an explanation, because they were cramped into this teeny tiny capsule...it was literally four seats facing a central console.

That was it. It closed on them like an umbrella. Reed made it that way because it was the only transport that would fit through the Negative Zone access. When he showed it to the others Johnny asked "What if we have to go to the bathroom?" and that's when Reed delivered the line about no waste food.

Then two issues into the trip they ate real food aboard an alien colony ship. No word on what they did for a bathroom then...

Found this SNL video funny in retrospect, wonder if the creators watched this?

Here's the problem with Clark and Kara metabolizing %100 of the food they eat...

Do they need it?

What happens if they don't eat?

if they metabolize the bad stuff to do specific necessary stuff, does that mean that their body will break down if they are not constantly eating bad food, as well as healthy food.... Oh.

Everything they eat is shoveled into the furnace for their heat rays.

Heat Ray Vision is pooping.

I see the one week hiatus is really hitting people hard :D
I'm looking forward to the next new episode so maybe I can find something else I really liked because it looked fun but looks unrealistic scientifically. That and I miss Melissa Benoist on my TV every week. .
