I have nothing significantly bad to say about Lower Decks, Prodigy, Short Treks, a lot of Picard and a bunch of SNW. While I don't love everything, it takes a certain kind of awful to get me to complain. I trust most other fans are equally discerning.

I'm kind of the same way, most Trek shows has aspects that I like and aspects that I don't like.

But for the most part, are pretty enjoy-able.

Obviously there are things that can be improved, but we don't have control, so we take what we can get.

For a series that allegedly shows nothing but disrespect to the visual continuity of TOS it sure goes out of its way to mimic or even copy it with props.

That device Scotty uses to insert a datatape isn't the exact same device with a viewing slot seen in TOS, but it's got some fun similarities, and looks very retro with those chunky gray buttons.

Background props are the one thing that has been consistently on point since Discovery started.

If I were to guess, it would be because the show-runners don't give any real instructions for how they should look.

Whoever designed the DSC phaser clearly did their homework. It looks like a mid-point between the Cage/WNMHGB laser pistol, and the TOS phaser.

Other than that, there isn’t much similarity between DSC and TOS.

It was beautifully made & designed.

I loved the multi-rotary Barrel concept.

That should allow you to change emission patterns in theory.

The funny thing is, whoever designed Rachel Garrett’s phaser for the Section 31 movie did their homework as well. It looks exactly like what a phaser from the 2330’s should have looked like (a cross between the TWOK phaser used in Yesterday’s Enterprise and the TNG season 1 Dustbuster phasers.)

And don't give me that, "Well, you can't please everyone" crap...

People are going to complain regardless. If we did get twenty plus episode seasons, someone would whine about "this is too much episodes to keep up with. Why can't this show just do eight episodes a season like [Insert Popular Streaming Show]?"

We already have plenty of people complaining about the short seasons as well.

It's like a Goldilocks problem, we need a Seasonal Episode Count in the middle that is 'just right'.

IMO, that number is 17 eps per Season @ 1 hr of Content per ep with special 2 hr of Content for Season Opening & Season Ending eps.
