Nobody needs too many Generals, Admirals or other top-ranking officers in proportion to their enlisted personnel. Ask the North Korean or even British Army.

It wasn't just the alliance, Jar-Jar was made a general in Episode 1, EVERY Jedi Knight was made a general in Episode 2, and Lando was made a general in Episode 6 with almost no military background (and the new canon comics literally had him court martialed in the weeks just before ROTJ!). Finn and Poe commit mutiny in Episode 8 and are made Resistance (or New Republic? whatever) generals in Episode 9

The old Super Nintendo game Super Return of the Jedi featured Wicket as a playable character and the Emperor as a boss, but they did not share any game time (Luke is the playable character during the Emperor boss fight). However, a cheat code allows Wicket to be playable in other levels, including in the level where you fight Palpatine. As a kid I used that code to have Wicket take on the Emperor, and the Emperor went down very fast (keep in mind this is a fairly difficult boss fight when you play the level properly as Luke)

where do you guys think characters like Una, La'an and Ortegas end up During the TOS era and its movies considering everyone else we've seen originated in TOS.

Una becomes Captain of the USS :NEW JERSEY we saw in Picard season 3. She eventually retires and becomes a advocate for helping people who are genetically engineered get more rights.

La'an becomes her first officer on the NEW JERSEY. She has a romance with Kirk after he breaks up with Carl Marcus but that goes no where. She discovers drugs and hippie music and mellows out and creates the the Space HIppie movement we saw on "TOS." She and Dr Severn were good friends and lovers.

Ortegas spends her life being a pilot in Starfleet. She loves flying and it's always the life she wanted so why ever do anything else. She literally died of old age eventually at the pilot station of a starship.

Una becomes Captain...

I suspect that, due to Una's genetically engineered heritage and the Federation's anti-GE bigotry, she will never be Captain of anything in Starfleet. They gave her a pass to allow her to remain on Enterprise under Pike, but that's it.

I mean, look what Bashir went through a hundred years later and then Dal several years after that, through no fault of their own. Each time, trusted people in authority had to bend over backwards to get SFC to make exceptions and allow them to stay in. Maybe by Dal's time in the late 24th/early 25th century they would start to re-consider that policy, but in the mid 23rd? Una's totally hosed.

Yeah, you're right about that - it's the one thing we've seen (that I can think of, anyway), where she got more than the usual treatment of "We'll tolerate you, but don't ever ask for an upgrade" until Dal came along and broke that ceiling by being allowed into SFA. I mean, why let him in (especially if he had designs on the command path) if they never had any intent on eventually assigning him to a ship and being promoted?

I like @Nerys Myk's thought about her becoming the SFA Commandant. It would be considered a high-profile placement (generally political) showcasing how "progressive" Starfleet has become about Augments, without going "all the way" and giving her command of an actual vessel once her tour of duty was complete on Enterprise, which I suspect would have happened not long after the time of Pike's accident. An interesting question - would Kirk have wanted her there?

Despite how frequently Kirk shows up in SNW I don't believe we've seen significant interaction between him and Una yet. That may change this season.

Strangely enough, I believe Kirk was training to be the youngest first officer in Starfleet so he SHOULD be interacting with Una practically all the time he's there.

They literally danced and sang around the ship together while she shared some heartfelt advice on what it takes to be a good Number One. I'd call that a fairly significant interaction.

It was before she revealed her family status, but Star Fleet did give her command of the USS ARCHER, so technically they already allowed her to to be a Captain.
I'm guessing that Command eventually just looked the other way and promoted her to either Captain and/or Commodore of a starship just because of her outstanding record.
(and probably because Pike pushed hard for it before his accident)

The whole trial was apparently public knowledge, so They'd have to tread carefully to not appear to once again be biased to the general public.

Probably got a field promotion that eventually became official after she did something significant they couldn't not reward.
