If it was that soon, you would think they'd, well, promote the show. A short trailer or ad or two. We're almost to April.

Disney+ is only now starting to show trailers for Andor and that's a month away. I think they only announced a firm date a month ago.

I'm not saying they aren't late, but they're not UNUSUALLY late.

And since I am currently thinking I will not be watching any clips or trailers (stay strong!) that's fine by me.

I finished watching S1 and S2 (again) recently.

When I first saw "A Quality of Mercy," and again on my rewatch, I felt that Pike came across as rather naive and too idealistic in dealing with the Romulans.

Apparently Pike's "the most heavily decorated fighting captain in Starfleet" per the Short Trek Q&A too. No wonder the Romulans thought that if this guy was their most heavily decorated fighting captain, the rest of Starfleet must be pushovers.

While trying to avoid a war, Pike didn't realize in time that the Romulans actually wanted a war.

Kirk had an inkling, but he too in both instances wasn't really sure.

Spock was the only one that realized right off the bat (in both timelines) what this incident was really all about.

where do you guys think characters like Una, La'an and Ortegas end up During the TOS era and its movies considering everyone else we've seen originated in TOS.

Seeing how history seems to remember Una as being a First Officer, I'm guessing she never makes Captain. The unfortunate reality is that her career will probably remain stagnant at this point. They allowed her to continue to serve as Pike's Number 1, but that doesn't mean they'll ever promote her. I see her leaving the service when Pike leaves the Enterprise.

Well, current U.S. Navy guidelines are that less than 50% of eligible commanders should be promoted to Captain. It's not automatic advancement for doing a good job.

The modern U.S. Navy is the organization upon which Starfleet is most closely modeled.*

*How closely? Pretty loosely in many respects. These things are relative.;)

Nobody needs too many Generals, Admirals or other top-ranking officers in proportion to their enlisted personnel. Ask the North Korean or even British Army. :)

They were all on the Reliant offscreen. Khan tried to get Una and La'an to join him as fellow augments but they refused so he killed them. He then put a Ceti eel into Ortegas' ear and she went mad. The last thing she said over and over before she died from the eel was "I'm a pilot, I fly the ship"

Ortegas takes an early retirement from Starfleet to become a moon shuttle conductor. She flies the ship.
