The series continues to compete and even beat original programming from streaming services with significantly more subscribers like Prime Video and Hulu.

This is the sixth time Strange New Worlds has ranked on the Nielsen chart in the first eight weeks of its season 2 run (which includes one week when two episodes premiered). Earlier in the year, Star Trek: Picard ranked on the same chart three times during its 10-episode run. Since Nielsen started measuring Paramount+ data earlier this year, only the two Star Trek shows and the Yellowstone prequel 1923 have appeared on the original top 10 chart...

Rewatching Enterprise (for the first time since original airing) and in S2E4 “Dead Stop”, I suspect the mysterious aliens who built the automated repair station are an earlier incarnation of the Kerkovians from “Charades”. Look how the station computer responds to inquiries. Also explains how they became such experts at repairing technology and life forms that are alien to them.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has shown its popularity by appearing on Nielsen’s top streaming chart throughout the second season, now wrapping it up with one last appearance.

The Nielsen top 10 original streaming program chart for the week of August 6 – 13 released today includes Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. This chart week included the release of the season 2 finale “Hegemony.” SNW ranked at #10 with 304 million minutes viewed. This was a drop from the previous week (with the release of the musical episode “Subspace Rhapsody”) where the show was ranked at #7 with 362 million minutes viewed. But the show ends its season continuing to compete closely with shows on more popular streaming services like Prime Video and Hulu.

I watched the two episodes on CBS tonight just for the novelty of it. It was kinda fun to see new Trek on over the air broadcast tv again, not just reruns on BBCA or H&I.

Yep I did the same. Already seen them many times and have the Blu-ray of SNW season 1, but I wanted to experience the novelty of watching Star Trek on network television again.

I'm curious to know what the actual ratings for the two episodes were.

I watched the two episodes on CBS tonight just for the novelty of it. It was kinda fun to see new Trek on over the air broadcast tv again, not just reruns on BBCA or H&I.

I did too. And it was warm fuzzy nostalgia with brand new shiny show. I actually liked how the pacing worked with actual commercials in the commercial breaks (that I normally don't see with my streaming service but grew up timing snack and pee breaks during). It made me feel that way I used to when the new shows started in the fall and we were back to school and everything seemed hopeful for a little bit.
