Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

I liked the musical episode. I guess my suspension of disbelief has no limits. I even liked the DS9 episode (Rivals) with a probability-altering toy. And I had no issues with a super faster than light starship drive that used mushrooms, or a child who in a moment of anguish disabled all starship drives .

Can I interest you in a lovely bridge in a picturesque location?

Didn't he also know the prosecutor in his Court Martial, Areel Shaw?
And given that in TOS S1 Court Martial there was this exchange:

KIRK; It's been, how long has it been?

SHAW: Four years, seven months, and an odd number of days. Not that I'm counting.

Soooo...he rebounded pretty quickly after Carol asked him to stay away it seems, but called it quits with her pretty quick too.

I can buy into all those ideas except the last one.

I assume that anything in this show can contradict TOS at any time, because they already have. And I'm more than fine with that.
They only thing they’ve really contradicted is the location of the eugenics wars.

Everything else they seem to be sticking to loosely. Like Kirk meeting Pike as fleet captain

Strange New World is also adding depth to the search for Spock cause we know the crew risked Court-Martial by stealing the Enterprise and going to go get Spock's body from Genesis but for people like Kirk and Uhura they have known the spock even longer than the other core 7 (Scotty, Sulu, Chekov, McCoy) so this is almost personal for them.
Are you saying that before SNW it was possible to read the actions of the entire crew in TSFS as non-personal?! :guffaw:

Can anyone confirm if Paramount plus has audio description available for SNW? I'm in Canada and relied on described video via Crave. But now that Crave is phasing out Trek, I'm considering getting Paramount plus (Canada). Each episode on Crave credited Paramount plus as the provider/source of the audio description. So I'm hoping it's available.

I don't know about in Canada, but here in the USA P+ does have it.

I'm using a AMAZON PRIME subscription now, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

I have the Canadian Prime so I'm able to access the SNW Paramount+ main details screen. Unfortunately it doesn't list Audio description in the language options. ( but it does for
Amazon shows like Bosch and its indeed available as listed)

So this has me concerned it's not available on the Canadian Prime p+ channel/Paramount plus app . I guess I will need to wait for a Canadian Paramount plus poster to confirm or pay for a month and find out myself.

No excuse for it NOT being available on Paramount plus Canada because Paramount *has* the audio description asset and it is available on the US platform (based on your feedback). Crave in Canada had it too (For all Paramount plus produced trek shows.)
Not being available would illustrate another indicator of lack of interest in international markets from Paramount.

All they seem to have done is have a little scene of her doing or saying something, nudging the direction of the plot.
