I'm getting Buffy "Once More With Feeling" vibes from that teaser.

Henry Alonso Myers was formerly a showrunner for the fantastic Syfy show The Magicians, which had one musical episode each season, so I am guessing this is his influence.

"If we're going to premire it at Comic Con; we might as well release it to subscribers at the same time."

I don't know if any TV series musical episode will ever match "Once More, With Feeling," but I sure hope "Subspace Rhapsody" aims for it.

What if the Magic Whatever causes crews to communicate using the musical conventions of the cultures they're from? A musical going on aboard the Enterprise while a Klingon opera breaks out aboard the D-7.

I think it'd be funny if, since Klingons sing when they go into battle anyway, no one on the Klingon ships even realizes anything out of the ordinary is going on.

Again with Kirk? I'm not a fan of him being in it so frequently. This is supposed to be about Pike's crew. Kirk has his show.
Musical episodes can be very hit or miss. Last one I enjoyed was the Buffy one.

Good. The more the better. It’s time for people to get out of their comfort zones when it comes to Star Trek. It might be terrible but at least giving it a chance is a start. You might find something you didn’t know you’d enjoy.
