Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

(And if you're wondering why the 'Ready Room' segments and episodes keep dropping and seem unaffected - realize they were filmed possibly up to a year ago while SNW S2 was in production. Yes, they want you to think they're 'current'; but I'm sure they wanted to do the interviews while they had the crew there to film, and to get the cast reaction soon after they'd finished the work on the episode that's the focus of a given segment.)
Wil Wheaton watches the episodes before doing The Ready Room. The VFX is WIP, but it should be the final cut when it comes to pacing.
So I don't think it's that close to filming.

Jess Bush changed her hair in mid March, so her ready room segment was filmed after that.

If I remember correctly there are 5 season two SNW episodes left and we haven't seen these scenes from trailers yet:
  • Uhura & a shuttle crash - possibly the same as Uhura's "I have a theory" and Uhura and Kirk having a drink
  • Ortega's Shuttle dive with Pike and Co (Don't worry I did it a 100 times during the war, it's like riding a bike)
  • the Gorn one (Spock & Chapel in Space and on Hull, Pike's GF on planet when ship shows up, the destruction of the Enterprise?)
  • the LowerDecks crossover
  • Pike, Una, Spock, Laan = on a sand planet with a Stargate/Portal of sorts?
  • Laan meets Kirk, Uhura notes "you have an engery"
  • multiple Klingon ships vs Enterprise
Am I missing something?

Well, you have 7 bullet points up there. 5 episodes left.
Ep 6: Lost in Translation.
Ep 7: Those Old Scientists
Ep 8: Under The Cloak of War
Ep 9: Subspace Rhapsody
Ep 10: Hegemony

1) The LDs crossover is rumored to be Ep 7.
2) The Gorn one has to be Hegemony. Though Under the Closk of War would also fit, but I think that title hints at Klingons/Romulans, not Gorn.
3) The Klingon vs Ent shot must be from that episode.
4) You have energy/La'an & Kirk screams Subspace Rhapsody. Thought that could also be the Uhura-centric one.

Lost In Translation seems an Ubura-ish episode title, so I will guess we get the Uhura shuttle crash next week.

Ortegas' dive seems like a good one for Hegemony or Cloak of War.

The portal one? Who knows. Maybe it is the setup for the crossover.

There was also a shot of Talos IV in the first Season 2 teaser, the visuals reused from DSC Season 2

If this shot is actually in Season 2, I think it will be connected to that shot of Uhura and the crashed shuttle. I think the shuttle crash is the one Uhura's parents died in, she's being forced to witness it for some reason and Pike will be forced to see Talos IV again.

There's also Fleet Captain Pike. But I have a hard time finding an upload of that trailer again.

the destruction of the Enterprise
That's probably Captain Batel's ship.

Ortega's Shuttle dive with Pike and Co (Don't worry I did it a 100 times during the war, it's like riding a bike)
Rewatching this scene, there seems to be rando scraps of metal strapped to the hull. I think they're pretending to be space debris, and Ortegas has to start the engines late so whatever space sensors don't pick them up.

Trekmovie's a great site. Anthony has done a marvelous job building it over the last, what, fifteen or sixteen years? Good content, good sources.

That being said, if you want to watch a bunch of pretty dim people take themselves and Star Trek as seriously as religion, read the article talkbacks. There are some okay folks, but a preponderance of utter bores.

Anthony used to post here under the "PowderedToastMan" handle. I think he initially started covering the TrekUnited campaign to save ENT and his site took off when JJ movie went into production. I always check the site for the latest news, but don't read any comments.

I think these two trailer shots are related
They seem to be hot dropping a saucer onto a Gorn device?

Yeah, I remember that. We talked a couple of times when he asked me to write reviews of TOS Remastered episodes. That was fun - I remember my synopses were snarky enough to piss off a lot of the Talkbackers, but Anthony liked them well enough.

Yeah, he's a nice guy. Very dedicated. He also had the advantage of living where the news about Trek often took place. I used to envy him that.

He and I had a long chat on the phone once.

Yeah, he was very engaged and easy-going and responded to email quickly and nicely. Got quite a few mentions and thanks on the articles back then :D

So, quick question, not really worth a thread, but in TAS, Admiral April had a doctor wife, Sarah, will we get to see her in any episode??

Pike talking to April about Captain Batel, and how to make things work, using his example of having a wife onboard.

I think we will eventually. They probably haven't decided on who will play her yet.
