I think I'm remembering something vastly different - like, the spewing of vitriol on par with the online feuding that went on between TOS and RDM Battlestar Galactica.

Abrams-era fans were lambasting Berman-era fans for being close-minded fossils and only interested in living in Trek's past glories. The Berman-era fans blasted Abrams fans for supporting a usurping non-Trek abomination.

Fans of both (such as myself) were sitting on the sidelines watching the dumpster fire unfold and thinking .

Though those interactions sound friendlier than the official Trek boards, with threads going around about Abrams being put on trial for heresy.

I was impressed; I didn't think we did that anymore.

And no Sybok under "Siblings"? Non-blood adopted children count but half-siblings do not?

Strange New Worlds made it into 7th place on the Nielsen Top 10 most watched original streaming shows for the first episode of season 2.

Picard season 3 I believe only managed to crack the top 9, and it took until episode 5 for that show to do so.

It’s a pretty lousy way to measure success with it being based on minutes watched, but right now it’s the best we have.

Do you have any credentials or experience to present relevant to making this assessment?

Pike comes across as more of a real human being than any previous Trek captain, possible exception of Sisko. The same is true of the other SNW characters.

I just wanted to post that I finally finished Season 1 of SNW, and it was absolutely worth the watch, and I’d highly recommend to anyone sitting on their proverbial fences! I should add: I was never on the fence about watching SNW so late in the piece - rather for me, it’s been about getting time to watch - so winning on that front also!

On to Season 2 we go!
