Which was rather glaring, IMO. They spend Disco's first season completely redesigning Starfleet's visual wheel and tell the complaining fans "visuals aren't canon" then in the second season the completely trip over themselves disregarding that design aesthetic and lineage to make the Enterprise as visually similar to TOS as possible.
It'll be interesting to see how, in their view, they make the sets and costumes closer to TOS than what we saw in STD. I thought the bridge was remarkably well done, considering the overall aesthetic of that show.
What I liked about the TOS uniforms and their first reincarnation in the 2009 Abrams film - and what I dislike about the Kurtzman-era version - is that they look like comfortable "shirt sleeve" work uniforms rather than being stiff and formal and very buttoned-up. Shatner apparently tried to do something like that (badly) with the "wooly-pully" outfits in ST:TFF. The original DS9 coveralls captured it more closely than any other post-TOS costuming, although the comfort factor there is an illusion of presentation; the costumes were apparently pretty damn snug.
Favorite Galaxy Quest line, via Rickman: "May I remind you he's wearing a costume, not a uniform."

Probably because Bryan Fuller wasn't in charge anymore.
The TOS style uniforms used in season 2 of Disco look fine enough as long as they get rid of that silly Disco uniform style fold over collar. Indeed, the behind the scenes photos showing Anson Mount and Rebecca Romijn with their collars zipped down look much better than when they're zipped up.
The collar and the visible zipper up the front of the tunic need to go.
Except that it looks like they can barely move their arms, yeah. The fucking things are tailored tight.
The never-show-fastenings principle of TOS is pretty naive, though. I don't mind the zippers.
Thankfully some of the TOS tunics had visible zippers.
I like the Enterprise uniforms as they are, and the variants we saw in Short Treks. I'd be fine if they simplified the unis a bit, basically turning them into the Star Trek Beyond ones though.

They could be worse, but, like a lot of stuff in Discovery, they’re overdesigned, especially when you see them in closeup. Says something about the show that the new versions are more garish than outfits designed to sell color TVs.
I don’t mind zippers, but I don’t need them down the front and definitely don’t need them at a look-at-me angle. I also think the shoulder padding combines with the tightness, the weird neckerchief and the thick, paneled fabric to make the uniforms look stiff and uncomfortable.
Hope they simplify them for SNW.
Yeah the various Federation outposts monitoring the neutral zone that were scooped up (TNG S1 "TheNeutral Zone"; as well as the section of the Enterprise that was carved out during TNG S2 "Q-Who", probably had humans who were assimilated; not to mention the humans who were assimilated in ENT S2 "Regeneration" (which yes was a paradox introduced by the film "Star Trek First Contact"... Who still haven't gotten over Seven of Nine ("PICARD was supposed to have been the first human to be assimilated! This violates continuity!")
).So yeah no matter how you look at it - No Picard probably wasn't the first human assimilated (and yes I get you were probably in sarcastic in the first place.

Discovery's is too big and poorly lit. It always seemed out of place.

If anything, I thought it looked cramped and cluttered compared to how spacious the bridges are for Disco and the Shenzhou.
Crank up the lighting and add more color to displays. TOS understood that more color is eye-catching and even the Berman Era shows got that.
