Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

Unless this is the Mother of All Fake-Outs.

It would seem awfully contrived for Pike to meet his fate at the tail end of the "Five Year Mission" (How convenient :shifty: ).

You REALLY want to make an impact? Disfigure and paralyze him at the end of Season Four. Don't give him a chance to complete the "Five Year Mission" (Or are we going to redo ST09 and have Lieutenant Kirk be promoted to Captain again just for the sake of fulfilling "destiny"?)

There's D7s in the trailer, so I hope for singing Klingons as well.
Perhaps the classics from Birthright and Soldiers of the Empire :D

A Trek Musical can be great - "To Boldly Go" was brilliant

just saw the TOS episode of SNW. I am not the biggest fan of Lower Decks but this was great.

Having characters talk normally and not too loud is something they should try in Lower Decks episodes too.

This episode probably makes the anti-fanwank dudes unhappy, but just as it was in Picard season 3 I don't care. I loved it.

Note to Rick Berman and Branon Braga: This is how you do a love letter to Star Trek fans and pay homage to the Enterprise series. The parts about NX-01 were fantastic. Heck, even Mayweather got a shout out.

We already know when Pike is injured, its during the first season of TOS.

To set up Pike being injured in S1 and then not deliver would be a grave disappointment. :shifty:

Better than three or four.

P+ is digging its heels over paying residuals. You think they're going to spend any more money than necessary?

I roll my eyes at most fanwank but I liked this, because it was funny.

Picard 3 sucked because it took its nostalgic reacharounds so seriously. Oh yeah - also because the story was lame.

So fanwank is OK so long as it isn't taken seriously?

Definitely remember hearing how Bruce Horak wasn't really gone, he's back in a regular non makeup role etc. 7 episodes in, and aside from a 1 episode Hemmer thing, I'm not seeing this so far
