My only desire with SNW is that Anson Mount's character of Pike avoids a fate where he's bound to a wheel chair with life support machines keeping him alive for the rest of his remaining life.
Even in the JJ Films, he managed to only be bound to a traditional wheel chair and didn't need machines to keep him alive.
Other than not being able to walk, he was more or less fully functional.
I'm hoping this incarnation of Christopher Pike ends up beating fate, or twisting fate.
That he'll eventually get out with minimal injuries or gets away with something that won't bind him to the machine like in TOS.
Maybe lose a arm and leg and need cybernetic prosthetics to replace them like Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist.
That would suck, for sure; but not nearly as badly as being confined to a wheel chair where your life support is completely dependent on machines like in TOS.

I would love them throwing in the twist of Pike not ending up in the chair. I recall a liking a similar kind of twist I don't want to spoil happening on Bates Motel. But if he does end up in the chair I do hope we get a glimpse at some point of his life on Talos. I feel like the show has to address not just the chair but his future on Talos as well.

Man, I’m jealous. I read about those as a kid and could only dream. There was a full-length Spock, too, IIRC. Someone should re-release those and add Bones as well.
