News Strange New Worlds casting/new characters

According to the files from the Defiant as seen in IAMD, but Enterprise itself didn't even adhere to that as info about Shran also available in Archer's file was quickly contradicted in TATV.

The only conflict between TATV and IAMD's bio screen (also of note: the date of Archer's death was never onscreen and comes purely from background info later released) is the date of Archer's command (2150-2160) conflicting with TATV's date of 2161.

Shran is out of the service in 2161, but must be a General by 2164. It's not an insane idea for him to be reinstated and promoted in three years.

Maybe, but when Mike Sussman (who wrote the IAMD bios) was asked about it, he confirmed he wrote them without knowledge of what was going to happen in TATV, and likewise while writing TATV Berman and Braga did not know about the bios. Indeed, Sussman was surprised after IAMD aired that the bios ended up being as readable as they were.

Strange New Worlds needs to be an Enterprise reunion! Evil President Archer! T'Pol suffering from Bendii syndrome! Old lady Hoshi getting revenge attacks for Tarsus IV! Phlox getting hunted by Augment virus Klingons!

Malcolm Reed would've shown up but he got pulled into the black hole that is the Section 31 show.

It could be fun to have Uhura and Chapel on the crew since they got the least amount of development in TOS. The only continuity issue is that Chapel shouldn't be in Starfleet or on the Enterprise before 2361.

Side note, it sounds like those were real eggs. Why else would he need to pick them up on a Starbase and not just replicate an egg he could scramble?

I guess there's some metaphysical questions having to do with at what point does the "illusion" of replicated food break and the real thing become preferable.

It's like when Sisko was cleaning/shucking oysters implying that they were real, fresh-caught -- which brings up a lot of questions on its own. If they were replicated, why didn't Joe just replicate them pre-cleaned and shucked?

Like there's some sort of hierarchy of Fully prepared > Replicated ingredients and prepared > fully replicated.

But that inherently attributes value which, because there's a finite scarcity on one end, gets back into the whole money thing.

The gagh will either rise or it won't -- there's not a damn thing you can do about it, so you might as well just sit back and wait and see what happens.
