News Strange New Worlds casting/new characters

I guess there's some metaphysical questions having to do with at what point does the "illusion" of replicated food break and the real thing become preferable.

It's like when Sisko was cleaning/shucking oysters implying that they were real, fresh-caught -- which brings up a lot of questions on its own. If they were replicated, why didn't Joe just replicate them pre-cleaned and shucked?

Like there's some sort of hierarchy of Fully prepared > Replicated ingredients and prepared > fully replicated.

But that inherently attributes value which, because there's a finite scarcity on one end, gets back into the whole money thing.

Doesn't Sisko enjoy cooking? Finds it relaxing? It's a recreational activity for him after the stress of leading the galaxy to war.

Sure, I could go out and buy a pulled pork sandwich, but spending three days prepping and smoking a butt is more fun.

Can we expect a trailer or something similar at Comic Con? Ditto for Picard.
The next two Star Trek shows slated for release are Lower Decks and Prodigy, so I would expect the SDCC 2021 panels to be mostly about them, with possibly a minor mention or tidbit regarding any of the other three current shows in production, Discovery, Picard, Strange New Worlds.

The marketing strategy has been to focus on the next upcoming release for any media conventions occurring right before said release date of the upcoming series season.

No. The only Trek stuff at Comic-Con this year was for Lower Decks and Prodigy.

The next big thing is Star Trek Day in September.

Really looking forward to this. Having grown up in the waning years of the Berman era and the dark times thereafter, I never thought seeing the words "Star Trek Day" in conjunction with possible franchise news could potentially overhype me. But Paramount has been doing good things with it lately; ditto with First Contact Day.

January 17th has been Enterprise Day since at least 2019. Disco season 2 premiered that day because of it. There's also Star Trek Day on September 8th and First Contact Day on April 5th. Captain Picard Day is on June 16th. And I observe Kelvin Day on May 14th.

Grain of salt and all that, but IMDb has been correct before. IIRC the actress who played Kestra in Picard was credited as her on there months before it was officially confirmed anywhere.
