Not at all! I don't hate the show so far anyway - it's only been 2 episodes, but it does appear headed towards being a Discovery clone. Anyway I'm mostly commenting on just this episode. I know garbage when I see it and am not afraid to call it such - unlike the delusional trekkies here that think everything is great just because it's star trek.
Nice trolling job, warning given.

Lots of spirituality concepts on these new Star Trek shows (and DS9) so I liked that lot. Pike is where he needs to be living his purpose by saving lives as being inferred by the show despite knowing his possible fate. I like that this is a character based thing for Pike. Gives him more depth.

Ohura, dare I say it, was annoyingly immature to me, which makes how Spock encouraged and calmed her down even more impressive. I just don't like her. I do like this version of Spock though. Ohura has some growing up to do which is understandable since she's a rookie.

I did not care for how we see the Enterprise in battle for the first time it has to run with their tail between their legs. Isn't this supposed to be the flagship of the Federation? This trope is getting tired when trying to build some type of tension.

*Uhura.

Which does not imply that it's the most powerful ship in the universe. And they didn't run away at all. They confronted the other ship and found a solution; quintessential Trek.

It certainly builds more tension than if the Enterprise is depicted as the most powerful ship in the quadrant.....

And how do you "build tension" when the hero ship is the most powerful? Doesn't the tension come from our heroes being in danger?
