Well, that is true. It's ten years earlier. Think about it.
That is also true, but it changed from General Order 1 to the Prime Directive so more formalized.Nerys Myk said:The Prime Directive is older than the first episode.

And? No matter what it's called it gets bent, battered and broken all of the time. It's a plot point designed to create drama and conflict for our heroes.Well, that is true.

Am I the only one reminded of The Price Is Right by this picture?
I half expected Picard to tell Data, "Look, I'm not entirely unsympathetic to their plight. We have a gas, it smells just like applesauce. They won't feel a thing."A lot of Picard's behavior in early TNG is questionable but the way he's just willing to let Sarjenka in the Selcundi Drema system die because, well, rules and good reasons is one of the character's lowpoints. At least Data and the frequently-maligned Dr. Pulaski stand up for violating the Prime Directive and rescuing her, the rules be damned.
That's because she was a complete rip-off of Doctor Leonard McCoy; a character who was often very emotional and always had his heart in the right place even when he got somewhat irrational at times. For all the shit Pulaski gets from some fans she exhibited more humanity in some episodes than Picard did.
I'll never understand why people have such strong reactions to fiction. After the canon defying first episode with Spock and T'Pring almost hitting it off, a new doctor instead of dr Boyce just because and Chapel in the crew, I couldn't finish the second episode of this garbage. The Fakeprise with its bright, white corridors are annoying as it is and the miscast actress for Uhura aside, the Prime Directive was introduced in the first episode but now they was about to break it before they realized what the comet really was.
I do like Anson Mount as Pike and the new Spock is good, but I decided to put on some real Star Trek instead.
I’d prefer “homage”, but as you wish. That's because she was a complete rip-off of Doctor Leonard McCoy
That's literally a rephrasing of terms. That is also true, but it changed from General Order 1 to the Prime Directive so more formalized.

In eight or nine years or so, Spock will project his thoughts to a guard to escape a cell in TOS S1 "A Taste Of Armageddon"; and will try the same trick again in TOS S2 "By Any Other Name", and he'll use his telepathy yet again to get Cloud William's mate to open a communicator in TOS S2 "The Omega Glory".
So yeah, Spock's future telepathic ability is pretty well-documented.![]()

Once you see the phrase "real Trek" used that should be a signal to not take it seriously, at all.‘Garbage’….?
Sorry, I just don’t believe this is your honest opinion.
