Stargate Universe will last how many seasons?

How many seasons do you think Stargate Universe will stay on the air? Will it surpass Atlantis? Will is surpass SG-1?

My gut feeling says 4-5. The premise of the show (marooned on a ship flying out of the distant reaches out of the universe) isn't something you can milk for 10 years.

I'd say four.

I don't have much of a reason for that though. It could be a much shorter run, but I don't think it'll last much longer than that.

I think it will last 4 years, if Enterprise can do it anybody should be able to. No way will it do 10 or more seasons not that you even gave that option for the poll.

A better question is how long until the writers resort back to the Replicators as a threat to the Destiny?

Five years the reach syndication status and the 100th episode mark. Then SciFi will cancel it.

For the past two Stargate series SciFi has had a 5 year run for both.

I don't know. With only 80 or so people and only a handful of those military, they can't afford to loose key people. If the writers don't keep the main actors happy or if they get too kill happy, this could go downhill fast.

Weird poll, by grouping some and not others you've made the data pretty much useless at telling you anything, but I reckon it'll go 4 years or so. I don't see the premise being long-lasting enough for a really long run, but it has enough potential I think for 3 or 4 good years.

All Stargate shows last sive seasons.

SG-1 lasted five seasons on Showtime, and another five on Sci-Fi. Atlantis lasted five seasons. SGU therefore, will last five seasons.

Another SG series, rinse and repeat.

I haven't watched it yet, but if this happens at all in the first season, somebody tell me so I can just forgo buying the DVDs.

Well they are copying BSG with the stupid CGI camera angles so I'll say 4 seasons.

The actors are most likely under contract for a few seasons at least.

i think 2....they definitely won't crash it before the end of the season, but are willing to do at least two.

But at this point, i don't see it lasting very long. What stories can they tell past these survival stories, which seem a little early on.

I think three seasons with the current premise. I can see them radically altering the show at the 3 year mark though, continuing with the series but changing the rules a bit. Almost like what they did with the Ori, except hopefully better executed

I give it two seasons, but it has an outside chance at five.
