I've never played the game but saw enough spoilers early in the week to hazard a guess as to what was going to happen.
Losing Pascal is a big thing, unless as people have said we're going to get a lot of flashbacks with him in.
Yes TWD and GoT survived the loss of major characters, but they did have way bigger casts, and frankly I think TWD picked up again after Rick left.
It was a hard watch but you know, I watched Negan kill Glenn, nothing will ever hit quite that hard again.
The battle was incredible!

With Flashbacks it'll even be harder as it's ripping open a wound every time
Naturally a slower and personal episode as people deal with the fallout of last week's mayhem.
I love how everybody immediately figures Ellie out as a liar. Not in the bad sense but that's how she protects herself from the pain in her life and Gail, being a psychotherapist ( not a psychologist), immediately picks up on it but lets it slide, because she knows Ellie is not there yet to open up and forcing her would do no good.
The council meeting went as expected. As much as everybody loved Joel the others and the council were right that they can't afford to send out a team to avenge Joel. Not after the attack and not for a single man, as hard as that sounds but they have bigger problems. It was also a good choice in hindsight not to start a war with the WLF given that we see how geared up they are and what numbers they can bring.
I think it was no suprise that Ellie sets out on her own as it was very evident from the trailers.
Now i really want to know what happened to this religious group because i guess that Wolf remark might be a red herring and there's more to it.
I expressed misgivings after the first episode, but I'm really enjoying it at this juncture. My brain has adapted to Show Ellie is not Game Ellie, and I'm enjoying the extra meat added to the story.
Enjoyed the slower pace after last week's action-packed blow out.
And Dina. Damn. I think Mazin has done a great job building and elevating her character.
And the broken bridge / highway they approached in Seattle may as well have been coped and pasted from the game.

Having never played the game or watched an episode, I'm surprised that part of the story takes place in Seattle.
I wonder if they'll get the geography/landmarks correct; if it's the one thing that bugs me about shows set in Seattle, like 'Grey's Anatomy' or 'Fraiser' is that they clearly haven't spent time in Seattle, except for a few establishing location shots and they don't understand the North-South, East-West dynamics of the city.

I used to be that way about the San Francisco Bay Area. But I've been away for over 20 years, so I'm out of date, so Hollywood might know more than I do,
This was a great episode, it was nice to get a little time dealing with Joel's death before we got back to the big story arc.
Bella Ramsey and Isabella Merced are pretty good together.
Seth helping out Ellie and Dina was a surprise, I can't remember if he did that in the game or not. I know it had the incident at the party, but I can't remember if we saw him beyond that.
I was a little surprised they introduced and revealed so much about the Seraphites already. In the game they were set up as the mysterious enemy of WLF and we didn't start to learn about them and their beliefs until a little ways into Abby's part of the game.

She's not, she had Dina (and Shimmer) with her, and Jessie and Tommy are also following them and show up later, but they don't know that yet.
It was them, most of Abby's storyline is dealing with the conflict between the Seraphites and the WLF.
