You might want to be a little more careful in your choice of words here, as they apply to other people on this board. Don't want to get started on the wrong foot do you?THE_FETT said:
It's funny that people on a Star Trek forum are talking about how exploring the far reaches of space on a ship is a bad premise. It's actually hilarious in its insanity.

(1) the next Trek series was about an ancient Preserver or whatever mysterious-but-boring alien vessel that was millions of years old and has been flying around the galaxies since then.
(2) TNG-era folks suddenly discovered that, say, every transporter in the universe can reach this vessel at any time anyway just be hitting an extra button on the console.
(3) the series would be written by the VOY writing staff, be produced by the same producers, designed by the same designers, cast by the same casting directors, ec.

Like in The Caretaker?

As in TNG's Contagion?

And we have no proof of this either so there's nothing to pan.
BTW, the same people who run "Atlantis" will run SG:U as well, although they may bring in a few new writers, (but if Martin "Dialog From Hell" Gero and Carl "I Wish I Were Martin Gero" Binder are any indication, I'm not sure that's a good thing). Unbelievably insipid and creatively stilted minds attract, apparently, hence why TPTB hire people who match their lack of enthusiasm and appreciation for the material.

If you told me that...
(1) the next Trek series was about an ancient Preserver or whatever mysterious-but-boring alien vessel that was millions of years old and has been flying around the galaxies since then,
(2) TNG-era folks suddenly discovered that, say, every transporter in the universe can reach this vessel at any time anyway just be hitting an extra button on the console, and
(3) the series would be written by the VOY writing staff, be produced by the same producers, designed by the same designers, cast by the same casting directors, ec.
... then I'd be panning that premise too.
And if anyone here thinks SG-U will be out exploreing the new galaxy just watch Atlantis and see how much the gang acutally explores anything.
Its been almost 5yrs and im still waiting for them to explore, hell explore Atlantis itself would be nice.

I hope not, been way overdone and is extremely limiting, in a universe with advanced inter-galactic FTL drives and instantaneous travel through stable wormholes.
