Regarding Culber being on that supposed memorial wall, it should be noted he's listed there as a full Commander, a rank he was not promoted to until arriving in the 32nd century. If that is indeed a memorial wall, the implication would be that he's now dead.

Commodore would be RDML (Rear Admiral -- Lower Half).

The existence of Rear Admiral Lower Half has never been canonical in Star Trek, and given modern shows do feature Commodore as a rank, that is what Starfleet uses.

After the disaster that was losing James T. Kirk on his maiden voyage as an Enterprise captain I can see Harriman topping out as a Captain and not progressing to a flag officer's insignia. The stigma of the most revered hero in Starfleet dying on Harriman's first mission as 1701-B captain may have been more than enough to follow him for the rest of his career.

Strange New Worlds showed that Pike was promoted to Admiral anyway despite his bungling starting a seemingly unending war with the Romulans that cost FAR more lives than 1 person's. Tons of reasons Harriman might've stopped at Captain, including focusing on family like Riker or just wanting to stay in the chair like Kirk.

I remember more than 20 years ago when nuBSG premiered quite a few fans on various forums were up in arms about an infiltrating human shaped Cylon was too damn sexy.
Good to see fandom still has that attitude alive for any form of female body representation.

I've been a bit outspoken about my general disinterest in YA things (albeit with the important caveat that I fully recognize not everything is for me, which is fair).

But if this show looks as good in motion as it does in stillframe, holy damn, what a feast for the eyes it will be. Some sterling lighting and cinematography at play, here.

The sets are popping and the make up is top notch.
Apparently these are full physical sets and not part of The Volume.
The only complaint I have are the control panels are still a thing in the 32nd century.
They should have gone with Borg inspired neurological connectivity by that time.

Captains Carol Freeman, William Decker, Amina Ramsay, Sonya Gomez and John Harriman are on there. Ezri Dax is too but her rank is hidden.

In a thousand years there were no other great heroes in Starfleet besides ones we know of.

Except, as already noted earlier in this thread, it lists him as a full Commander, a rank he wasn't promoted to until he arrived in the 32nd century.

Starfleet is modeled upon the U.S. Navy. Judging by the U.S. Navy, the use of "Commodore" depends upon the posting (billet). Some billets use "Commodore," others use "Admiral."

It's a job title more than an actual rank (it's the equivalent of a Rear Admiral, Lower Half).

Yep. It's just a rank. A person with that rank can be in various positions.

I knew someone was going to come up with something... There's a time to nitpick and a time not to nitpick. When I'm speaking out in support of there being Jem'Hadar who are women, I think it's better to simply just agree with it. The sentiment is I'm in favor of what SFA is doing.

Buxom lady Jem’Hadar was definitely the most interesting element! I’ll take any scraps of justice for DS9.

I’ve been thoroughly disinterested by the mere thought of this show, but it looks rather stunning visually and I’ll definitely give it a shot in the hope that it’s a pleasant surprise. Reno and the Doctor ought to have a delightful interplay at the very least.

It does look really good, i'll give them that.

A trailer would be welcome in the next few weeks.

Idle Speculation Only: Now that Burnham is working more directly under Kovich, I think Discovery is on super top-secret Red Directive missions on a regular basis. Maybe that's pretty much all they do now.

I bet Reno decided, "This isn't for me," and that's why she transferred to being an instructor or staff member at Starfleet Academy.

I hope they stick to only doing scraps. I live in constant "low dread" that one of these shows will try to do something with DS9 and just shit all over it.
