Star Wars Rebels Season Two (spoilers)

Holy crap, Thrawn! That is awesome. I didn't realize that was him, because he looked more grey there than blue. I just saw the story on IGN before I came back after my last post, and they say there is also going to be a new Thrawn novel by Timothy Zahn.
I love the Thrawn trilogy and really enjoyed Outbound Flight, so I'm thrilled they'll adding him to Rebels. As badly as people wanted it, I never actually expected to see him in the new canon. Maybe Mara Jade won't be far behind.

I love that they seem to be doing a pretty direct adaptation of how Thrawn was presented in the books.
Looks we'll be learning a bit more about The Force, and the Jedi and Sith

This looks amazing! Probably the most anticipated season for a cartoon IMO

I got the first disc of Season 2 from Netflix the other day, and so far I've watched The Siege of Lothal and The Lost Commanders. I really enjoyed all three episodes.
Siege thoughts:
It was nice to see that the story did deal with the Ghost crew adjusting to being part of a bigger group.
I was a little disappointed we didn't spend much time with adult Ahsoka.
I loved Vader here, he was just as much of a powerful, scary badass as I was hoping he would be.
The Lost Commanders:
I really liked the Clones in TCW, so I loved getting to revist them here.
It was nice to get a canon answer to what became of the clones post CW.

"Old" men. Well not really, but they are. These three were born a little after the Battle of Naboo, so they are all really under 30 years old...or about Kanan's age.

I assume there will be a lot more of adult Ahsoka in her novel than in Rebels, since she only shows up from time to time.

If this was a season one thread, yes...but season two? She's on the main poster, so she can't be a spoiler.

I watched Relics of the Old Republic.
I loved seeing the CW era walker take on the AT-ATs.
Ahsoka and Rex's reunion was a nice little moment.

I've watched the next four episodes over the last week or so.
Always Two There Are: This was a cool introduction to the new Inquisitors
Brothers of the Broken Horn: Hondo!! Hondo was one of my favorite new characters in TCW so I love that they brought him back for Rebels.
Wings of the Master: A nice Hera-centric episode.
Blood Sisters: I've always liked Sabine, so I really liked getting an episode that focused on her and her backstory.

Wings of the Master: A nice Hera-centric episode..

I love how this episode captured the 'golden age of aviation' vibe. The score even sounded like it was deliberately channelling James Horner's work from The Rocketeer in places.

I had a bit of trouble really liking 'Blood Sisters'. Not that it was bad per see, but I just didn't quite buy Ketsu's turnaround. Feels like this is the sort of thing they should have done on her second appearance, after already establishing her.

A later episode focusing on Zeb has a similar problem where the story felt a little too rushed. Like it really needed to be spread across two or three episodes rather than condensed into one.

I am still wondering if Ketsu did turn around, or she just saw a way to get a bigger bounty on the Rebels as a whole.

I don't think so, given the nature of her second appearance.
Flying cover for the fleet against the Empire.
That kind of long-con plot is the sort of thing that really only works if you know and care about the character who betrays the heroes. Ketsu just hasn't had enough screen time to really justify it.

I am trying to figure out how the Empire was setting up a trap in that episode. Plus the trap at what was at the Rebel's original destination for a new base, which I thought was provided by Ketsu. My first assumption was Ketsu sold them out.

Which is why I'm still on the fence with her.
