Star Wars Books Thread

I forgot about the Baze and Malbus book, and the Cassian comic, I might read those two if I feel like it once I finish the other stuff.

I had post this here too:

Hey all,

Well, its gone from bad to worse concerning the novelization of The Rise of Skywalker. So much for expanded scenes and finding out new information on the movie. The novelization as been cut by at least 40 pages for starters.

Check out ereader's original page for the novelization it was 288 pages originally in October:

By contrast The Last Jedi novelization clocked in at 411 pages.

I'm severely bummed. So much for answers I think.

What a stupid blunder to wait 3 months for a truncated novel.
Wow. It should have been left alone, and released now,

Do we know for a fact pages were cut, rather than the first one just being an wrong number that was fixed?

@JD it was posted on Amazon since October, at 288 pages. The novelization was always supposed to be released in March, but the art book was supposed to originally be released December 20th, and now delayed until March as well.

You tell me man. To quote Lacombe in Close Encounters of the third Kind, "Go outside...Make me a liar"
I just called it like I see it.

That frustrated me greatly. Especially since it was days before it was supposed to come out. The Art of books are some of the only physical merchandise I buy anymore.

All I meant was that the original page count could have just been a place holder until the real finale count was added when the page was last updated. A lot of these kind of things will start out with just generic information because they want to have something to put down and then they will change it once the final information comes in.

Finished Star Wars Volume 7: The Ashes of Jedha and also the Darth Vader: Dark Visions anthology. I enjoyed both books. I thought the Jedha book had great artwork and was a nice coda to the film Rogue One. I thought Dark Visions had a neat premise of seeing Vader through others' eyes. I only wish
there had been a story featuring a Jedi.

Are the extra scenes in the comic movie adaptations different from the ones in the novels?

I've noticed that there does seem to be a lot more humor in the Solo novelization than I remember there being in the final movie. I'm wondering if some of that could be a leftover from the Lord/Miller version.

I just finished listening to Master & Apprentice earlier today. Claudia Grey was such a huge find; I've really enjoyed every single Star Wars story she's written so far.

I have to say, I really like how they handle Star Wars audiobooks. Not only are the narrators high quality, but the productions incorporate music and sound effects that really immerse you in the story. I plan to go back and re-read all of the previous canon novels in audiobook form, as this was only my second one, after Dooku: Jedi Lost. (Although I'm not sure if that one counts as an "audiobook" since it was written as a drama meant to be performed.)
