Very droll.

("Disaster-movie homage" is an odd way to frame this one, though. Disaster episodes aren't a new SNW thing. There's a classic TNG episode literally named "Disaster," about a disaster.)

I don't know why, but my immediate first thought after hearing about the "slipstream wormhole", was that this was going to explain how Kirk and the Enterprise made it to the galactic barrier when Discovery needed to do a spore jump to reach the same barrier.

I'm excited by this. Looking at the episodes Bill's written, he's among the best of the series writers. He has co credit on four great episodes (Ghosts of Illyria, Those Old Scientists, Subspace Rhapsody, and The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail) and two middling ones (Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach, Shuttle to Kenfori).

Chances of this being a miss seem very, very low.
