I really think they should of had a end credits scene of a lurking Borg cube picking up the signal and bursting into song.

AUTO TUNE!

So, you've rewatched such treasures like Shades of Gray but *this* episode is just more than you can stomach. Riiiiiighhhhht.

In fairness when I said this would divisive (in my head but I never wrote, will be helpful if I wrote) is that some people just don't like musicals. And in an out of place situation, they'll feel that even more so.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that, it's unlikely to convert people to loving musicals as just you do or you don't, in my experience.

I think people need a free ticket on disliking this one. I sat with two friends and said to one "You will hate it." Turned to the other. "You will love it."

And as an aside I quite like Shades of Grey.

It's fine to not like this one if you don't like musicals, or for whatever reason. I didn't like the LD crossover because I don't like LD and I'm, fairly, comfortable saying I won't watch it (or LD again. ... Maybe. We'll see when a rewatch opportunity comes up.)

My questions just more on what I thought was the extreme front of saying it was the first/only episode he'd never rewatch. There's a LOT of junk in Trek so that's a lot to say. I cannot even fully say that with confidence with the LD crossover or a LD episode. (Though, I could say it with DIS. No interest in that one at all.)

There's really only one episode in the franchise, Shades of Gray, I can confidently say I won't ever re-watch. Hell, on my rewatches of TNG sometimes I'll even watch Code of Honor. Shades of Gray? No point in watching it. All the other bad stuff, I can find some reason to maybe watch.

That's where my comment comes from. That her said it was the only episode he'd never rewatch. There's a lot of junk in Trek to "never watch."

Then apply that logic to the other poster. They can find something of value to every other episode to rewatch...except a musical.

No surprise in there. I like musicals but haven't watched this one for my own reasons.

One man's junk, etc. etc. I won't watch a lot of TNG, or VOY or ENT. Is that junk too? Or just personal preference?

I prefer "Shades of Gay," the knock off Star Trek porno.

So you can have your one episode you won't rewatch, which you mention being "Shades Of Gray", and others on the board (here and in threads throughout the forum) have stated they have an episode or movie they won't ever rewatch, but when I say this is the one episode I won't ever rewatch, that is considered 'extreme'?

Who are you to make that call?

There are multiple bad episodes in the franchise. ALL shows have had their clunkers. (Yes, even my personal favorite, DS9.) Legitimately worse episodes than this one, I agree. I've already acknowledged the good character work here, so I am not calling this a clunker.

Those 'junk episodes', as you call them, all have something about them I personally enjoy. I get something out of them. Which is why I rewatch them. Hell, I've defended nearly every episode in the franchise that was considered bad. (At least from ENT backwards... it's personally difficult to do with PICARD and DISCO episodes because the seasons are so tightly arc driven that the episodes blur together a lot.)

I personally DO NOT enjoy musicals. I get nothing out of them. So why would I rewatch something I do not enjoy?

Oh, wait... that's right. I'm not allowed to have that one episode because it's considered 'extreme'.

In all my time here, I have never once told someone that them never rewatching an episode or movie again is extreme. I'll argue the merit of that episode or movie, sure. But I never tell them that decision is extreme. And do you know why? Because that's their choice whether to rewatch or not. It's their time... their life... their decision. I'm not arrogant enough to think that my tastes supercede anyone else's.

Then apply that logic to the other poster. They can find something of value to every other episode to rewatch...except a musical.

Thank you! Exactly!

I'd like this a thousand times if it were possible.

The holder of my own opinion, which I am free to express.

It seems extreme to me. Like/dislike all you want. I'm just saying that it seems odd to me that out of everything *this* is the one you deem un-rewatchable.

You say out of the other junk there's aspects you can find to enjoy in them but this one even the good character stuff isn't enough to get you to maybe rewatch it someday? I don't know, it just seems odd to me. Then one episode I can fully say I won't rewatch is a dumb clip-show there's no *point* in rewatching.

I shrug and say whatever. You're entitled to your opinion, I have mine.

Again, dislike the episode all you want. You don't have to like it.
