To our surprise...100 cube lenghts high...viniculum's shakin' loose, yo...blowin' fire through the roof...
O lighten up.Dancing drones? Borg beats? Borg Queen doing "Dancing Queen"? "Thriller" assimilation tubules?
VOY already completely defanged the Borg, so I guess why stop there?
Let's make the Borg do disco, because the terror and threat of the Borg died about as quickly as disco did in the U.S.
Disco rules.
Queen, maybe. The harmonies.
O lighten up.
This episode was a bit of fun.
Free form Jazz.It does provoke the amusing question of what genre the technozombies would have favored.

I can't stand disco. It's a genre that just irritates me.
I'm glad others enjoyed it. I didn't because I can't stand musicals. The first time I will never actually rewatch an episode of the franchise.
So, you've rewatched such treasures like Shades of Gray but *this* episode is just more than you can stomach. Riiiiiighhhhht.
I think the disbelief comes not from the idea that you won't rewatch this, but that out of hundreds of episodes spanning more than 50 years this is the only one.I think that's reasonable, don't you?
You know what?
* They created creatures that are born pregnant, invented by a guy who ran around in his underwear.
* They declared that ghosts are whatever-phasic lifeforms that want to get in your pants.
* They had women on a planet go from chattel to full equals overnight.
* They had two people turn into salamanders and get all better.
* They had a planet with one lifeform on it that looked like... something that gets discussed in those middle school lessons where the boys and girls go into seperate classrooms.
* They had a space mushroom transwarp drive.
* They had a dog that could talk and fly and turn into stuff.
* They had an alternate universe where a non-Borg Seven of Nine was basically Empress of mankind.
* They had two people swap bodies over a phaser beam.
* And they created a technobabble explanation not just why everyone on the Enterprise was singing, but why that had to do a grand finale number complete with K-pop Klingons.
If Trek's writers want to create a convincing explanation for Spock and Chapel living happily ever after... they'll find a way.
Ok you dont want to watch this. Ok great I dont watch most of series 1 and 2 of TNG.Yes, precisely because I do not like musicals. AT ALL. Why would I rewatch a genre/show I am completely turned off by? Exactly why is that hard to understand?
I agree that it fails for me because I simply can't get past the fact it's a musical. It's not my genre... AT ALL.
And I think I was being more than fair when I said the character work was good (which it was) and I rated it a 5. If I were to rate it based on my dislike of musicals, I would have given this a 1 or a 2. But no, I tried to rate it based on the character stuff and not my own distaste for musicals. I think that's reasonable, don't you?
It took me a minute to realize that you weren't talking about David Gerrold. They created creatures that are born pregnant, invented by a guy who ran around in his underwear.
I think it's completely reasonable. We've had the lion's share of peole going on and on about horrible episodes on this board and how they won't watch it again. I think yours is beyond reasonable given your distaste of musicals.Yes, precisely because I do not like musicals. AT ALL. Why would I rewatch a genre/show I am completely turned off by? That's literally the purpose of this board. If people don't go on and on about stuff they don't like (how many digs at other series crop up in fan comments, myself included?). We discuss Discovery, Enterprise, Nemesis, and various other topics people don't like and people often say "I don't like it."Ok you dont want to watch this. Ok great I dont watch most of series 1 and 2 of TNG.
But you dont have to keep going on about it.

You're welcome to like/dislike what you want and that you can give a positive aspect to the episodes. I just think saying that *this* is the first episode out of almost 60 years of TV you'll never rewatch is... extreme.
I'll say I'll likely never rewatch These Old Scientists at an as it's an episode I dislike. But it's not the only episode. There's plenty of other episodes, movies and even series I won't watch/rewatch. No one gets the honor of being the "only."

I normally get annoyed by this, but calling out Farscape One, of all people, for this is strange to me. Guy's more reasonable than many I've encountered.
Techno, of course. Kraftwerk would be perfect. It does provoke the amusing question of what genre the technozombies would have favored.
