I mean we can definitely agree to disagree. I agree with you 99% of the time. I don't want to reproduce it by screenshotting her nipples. I'm certainly no prude but, it seemed like those fighting scenes were purposefully were in there to establish, as if we weren't aware, that she is 'hot' and 'lonely' in order to segue into a romantic plot. I felt it was out of place, especially compared to the entire first season.
I think Chapel and Uhura had similar scenes though. Equal opportunity?

The male-female ratio of the cast is off balance enough to be noticeable, however, its not worse than the men heavy cast of all the previous series before Discovery. So to complain about it would be the height of hypocrisy.
It's weird too, because I don't even notice it anymore and there's one less male this year. Partly, I chalk this up to the costuming - the uniforms are very gender neutral. Even the tailored, square-ish (and for lack of a better word) "princess" seams over the chest are exactly the same for men, women and etc. Sometimes the guys even look slightly, um, busty.

Until this post I didn't even realize it either,

I really don't agree. If she were sexualized, she would have been given far more revealing costumes. "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" strongly emphasized her feelings over her sexuality.

Yeah, and his performance as Spock has nothing in common with that.

You have gotten more out of this show than office romance.

Too bad; that's not the kind of story the writers want to tell.

SNW regularly exceeds the heights of "The Corbomite Maneuver" and "The Doomsday Machine."

"Momento Mori" and "All Those Who Wander."

I really like the show but no I haven't seen anything like corbomite maneuver or doomsday machine yet. I did see one like balance of terror but it was a remake. It's time for these guys to start exploring deep space.

Not really what Star Trek does. Sure they're out there, but it rarely drives any of the stories. "Exploring" is just away to get the characters to where the real themes of the episode can be explored.
The season one episodes "Strange New Worlds" and "Children of the Comet" were "exploring" stories, "All Those Who Wander" and "The Serene Squall" are "deep space" episode. "Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach" introduces a new world.

This was a fun one. Jeez, Ethan Peck is a good looking guy. I can really see the resemblance to his grandfather.

What is "sub impulse?" Thrusters? That's damned slow for Star Trek.

It was light and frothy, a little like one of those "Q loses his powers" comedies. Never knew Amanda had such cleavage...

The Enterprise has a full bar with bartender. No wonder Pike had half the crew compliment than Kirk. Pike needed the room for his immense quarters and the bar. Looking forward to seeing the bowling alley.

So, the Vulcans didn't notice Spock's ears were fake until he pulled them off? I was expecting the possible discovery to be a comedic tension point. They noticed his eyebrows once it was pointed out.

Speaking of...They can't seem to decide whether to settle on giving Una upswept eyebrows or more curved. They're pointy again after a couple of episodes of more like her original eyebrows. Honestly, I hate this look on her. But whatever.

I'm totally fine if they ditch canon and follow the Spock/Chapel relationship to a natural conclusion instead of making it fit. The hell with Roger Corby.

I do agree with this sentiment. It's been fun so far, but we don't want this to turn into a soap opera. Let's start making some first contacts and blowing up some Klingon shit.

Calling it "immoral" is a pretty big swing. Seeing another person when engaged or even just being in a committed relationship it a pretty bad, but immoral? Nah.

Hell yes it's immoral! Get engaged, then go bang someone else, and then quiz your fiance on their opinion...
