I really don't agree. If she were sexualized, she would have been given far more revealing costumes. "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" strongly emphasized her feelings over her sexuality.

I mean we can definitely agree to disagree. I agree with you 99% of the time. I don't want to reproduce it by screenshotting her nipples. I'm certainly no prude but, it seemed like those fighting scenes were purposefully were in there to establish, as if we weren't aware, that she is 'hot' and 'lonely' in order to segue into a romantic plot. I felt it was out of place, especially compared to the entire first season.

However, keeping T'Bonz' rules in mind pinned at the top, I'm not going to personally throw shade at those posters based on their opinions that I disagree with.

Perhaps you could consider doing the same.

The argument you made (that SNW and LD are pieces of feminist media) is a specious one and not reflected in common understandings of SNW and LD as media or of feminist inquiry/analysis as a critical discipline. “Has female characters that do things and express opinions independent of men,” is not a serious criticism and thus I do not take the argument seriously.

In terms of "instant classics" for STW, I can think of some pretty easily.

Certainly:
1. Momento Mori (S1, E4)
2. Ad Astra per Aspera (S2, E2)

Close if not there already:
1. Spock Amok (S1, E5)
2. Lift Us Up Where Suffering Cannot Reach (S1, E6)
3. All Those Who Wander (S1, E9)
4. Charades (S2, E5)

Very Good/Excellent:
1. Strange New Worlds (S1, E1)
2. Children if the Comet (S1, E2)
3. Ghosts of Illyria (S1, E3)
4. A Quality of Mercy (S1, E10)

And the rest has at least been good. But that is 10/15 that I would not hesitate to call excellent. And even the others had bright moments. The ending in Elysian Kingdom. The guest captain in Setene Squall. The Kirk/La'an relationship in Tomorrowx3.

I know you are never gonna get everybody, but I think S3 of Picard + S2 of SNW have been fantastic. And for the most part, so has NuTrek. Not flawless, but good. Again, YMMV.

Pike isn't a shitty cock, and that's actually portrayed in canon. The SNW episode Serene Squall had the Pirates loving Pikes cooking to the point that he was able to get them to mutiny against their current captain/cook.

In this episode, T'Pring's father also was showing to clearly enjoy Pike's cooking of Vulcan food as well.

Spock's initial WTF reaction was perfect.

that will be interesting seeing the outcome of TOS. were spock/uhura seem more like the better match to spock/chapel.

They did that already with the JJ Movies.

And in TOS Uhura seemed to be trying to be more of a friend toward Spock, not a lover.
The times we saw them interact in a nonprofessional manner was when she was encouraging his musical talent with the Vulcan Lyre.

Absolutely perfect. Peck continues to impress me. I want to see the outtakes from the ladies telling Spock how he talks! And Anson's reaction expressions were beautiful! I also really liked Uhura and Erica looking at Chapel in disbelief with the aliens.

This is disappointing to me. It seems that our hero characters (and Spock is just that- a hero) should be able to uphold the standards and morals that we mere mortals so often fail to do- it is part and parcel of what makes them heroes in the first place. How are kids growing up supposed to have anyone to look up to and try to emulate if their heroes lack basic morality and character?

Or, maybe it would be more accurate to say that based on what their hero characters are showing them, kids growing up are going to think that this sort of behavior is right and acceptable, which is probably what a lot of Hollywood types are aiming for. Parents should be instilling the proper values in their kids, but too many just aren't, and entertainment media fills that gap.

The characters are currently separated and unmarried. So why do you think there's anything immoral about what they're doing.
