** -- Lt. Worf (who has commanded the USS Defiant both during the DS9 series and Star Trek First Contact) enters the chat --**

As a child Worf accidentally killed a different child while playing Soccer.

His trauma over human fragility weakness continued well into adulthood.

We didn't find out about this until almost the end of DS9, but Worf was likely a political appointment bordering on affirmative action, since a Klingon in Starfleet looks good for Starfleet and embarrasses the Klingons.

A gentle ribbing, no more, no less.

Lt. Commander Worf went to command division when he transferred to DS9. He would have had to let his warrior instinct be sidelined while in a command position. (He was learning to do this, though wasn't always successful.)

I gave it a low vote mainly because I could only get about 5 minutes into it. My son is sensitive to noises and the ringing in the ear sound was too much for him and he was on the other side of the house from me. He was in tears asking me to turn it off. So I guess I will not be able to see this one until he is back in school in August.

He started in Red back in TNG season 1.

Look at him in Strange New World. He almost never fight in hand to hand combat. Every time he went in away team, he'll allow himself to be captured and preach the Alien instead. And when the Enterprise was hijacked, it was the crews who take over the enemy ship. Pike was only act as team hoorray.Even when he lead the away team to rescue a Starfleet ship in season 1 episode 9, it was La'an who fight, not Pike. he always stay behind his capable crews.

That's why I think Pike is not some kind of front-line combatant type character like La'an and Michael Burnham.

But when he lost his memory. WOW, he can even capture a castle singlehandedly.
The sample size is rather low to make such proclamations. 15 episodes?

There's also the fact they're probably not trying to solve everything with fist fights.

He practically screams at the Keeper and threatens to use his hand laser on the latter's head and just moments before all but strangled him with his bare hands.
Some choice Pike lines from TOS S1 The Menagerie Part 2:
http://www.chakoteya.net/StarTrek/16b.htm
PIKE: You stop this illusion, or I'll twist your head off. All right, now you try one more illusion, you try anything at all, and I'll break your neck.
.
.
.
PIKE: I'm going to gamble you're too intelligent to kill for no reason at all. (hands him over to Number One and picks up the laser pistols, firing them at the glass wall) On the other hand, I've got a reason. I'm willing to bet you've created an illusion this laser is empty. I think it just blasted a hole in that window and you're keep us from seeing it. You want me to test my theory out on your head?
