It really is hard to tell. The middle cylinder looks more like a Kelvin nacelle, with the lights at the edge and the solid front, with the side cylinders seeming to have Enterprise-style nacelle domes. It might be the same ship that's visible at the very beginning of the timelapse sequence, but you can't see the nacelles in that shot, just a little bit of the saucer and rollbar (but it's enough to confirm that that ship isn't a kitbash of the Kelvin or the Enterprise at all, but just roughly shaped in the Kelvin style for deep-background).

Actually, looking at the sequence, I'm much more sure it's the same ship both times, while it moves off at the very beginning, you can see it stopped at the end of the spacelane as the camera swings around the front of the Enterprise the first time. It's pointing the other way, but it's definitely the same ersatz-Armstrong.

I wonder, if such effects had been available during TNG, what kind of new designs we might've seen. How many new, exotic designs might these talented creators have given us, instead of having to reuse the Jovis or the Merchantman? Perhaps the Bozeman could've been a totally new design.

I assume you mean the tanker from "Marauders" (or did you mean the recycle of the Groumall in "Sons and Daughers"?) Either way, that seems like a long shot.

I think you're right. I blindly trusted Memory Alpha.

Eight, if you count the deuterium tanker and the unused D4 class model.

No, I don't think so. I thought about them, but the tanker is just a variant on the D5, same as how the Reliant, Lantree, Saratoga, and Antares are all the same class.

As for the D4, that one was (regrettably) never shown on screen, though the model is wonderful. I've mentioned before that I think that one would work great as a design that came in between the D5 and D7 (which would make it a D6). Perhaps something introduced in the late 22nd or early 23rd century, in response to the growing Federation.

The Miranda class variants have the same shape, just with a few add-ons or without the rollbar. D5 tanker and cruiser on the other hand have differently shaped heads, neck sections, and wings.

The new, larger Enterprise D shuttles look great. I would've preferred to get all shuttlecraft as regular-sized models. The next two will apparently be the one from Generations and the Calypso. I'm surprised that they chose the captain's yacht instead of Type 7.

Yeah I want the ENT's D5 Tanker. And while its absolutely the CGI starting point for the Cruiser, they did more substantial modification than what happened to the Reliant studio model.

Okay, yes, looking over the page at Ex Astris, I do see some notable differences.

There are a few I'd still rather give priority to, such as the IKS Gr'oth from "Trials..."

Regarding non-Klingon ships, I'm still holding out hope for the Bajoran scout, Degra's ship, the "Think Tank" ship, the Cardassian "Dreadnought" missile, and the Yridian ship.

In this case, the original idea was for the Bozeman to be a TOS Constitution class ship. But the budgetary concerns with building an all-new filming model that would only be used for that episode (the model would be too old to be able to be used as a TNG guest starship), not to mention needing to build a partial TOS bridge set and TOS costumes for the extras, doomed that idea. But even if they utilized CGI and created a TOS Constitution that way, they'd still have to spend lots of time and money on the set and costumes (which again would only be used once.)

We absolutely should get Degra's ship (I mean it was a feature in several episodes). I seriously want the Bajorean ship, Think Tank they have mentioned previously and I am for any station like ship, and the Yridian is one the few remaining physical models from TNG, thus it absolutely should get made.

Those above I feel should be almost mandatory.

I can absolutely see the Gr'oth as part of that would be just using another model as a starting point (so design wise it should save money) its Klingon and its in a hugely popular episode, and the Dreadnought I am of two minds. It is a prominent vessel heavily featured in one episode (which for me is a big criteria, but it happens to be a in my opinion a boring design.

But who am I kidding, I would certainly get all of them if made....

Bought a few ships when on offer - the STO Gagarin and Buran classes (25th century updates of the Shepard and Cardenas from DSC), the Jenolan, the D7 and the big light-up Borg Cube.

Man, the Jenolan and D7 models are BIG for standard issues. You'd think those refit Connie nacelles were actually full-sized on the Jenolan comparing it to the Ent-A model... (if not a big larger!)

It just now occurred to me that there haven't been many sale promo codes lately. Normally I would get some kind of email on a regular basis - in fact, I used to get spammed by Eaglemoss/Hero Collector almost daily and those have dropped off as well. They have a sale going on now, but on select items only. I was hoping to be able to get all 3 of the NuTrek background ships, but the opportunity hasn't presented itself in a long while now. I suspect the broken global supply chain situation probably has them throttling back all inventory-sucking activities like promo codes and whatnot. A shame it's come to this...

Finally got my K-7 station which I bought in the sale they had in August. They first sent me the wrong thing, so I sent it back and then it took a couple of months to get around to sending the right one.

And then they sent me two.

Yep, sounds about right. I asked for a replacement magazine and got a magazine and another model.

Really looking forward to the LDS ships. Cerritos and Parliament in particular. I do have to wonder if they're going to attempt the garbled kitbashes that are Pakled ships, though.

    55% discount... Resistance was futile.
When it comes to Starfleet ships, I feel John Eaves has just been phoning it in for the last couple of years. The Romulan ships he's designed for PIC on the other hand - the more I look at them the more I like them!

This says it's part of the "Star Trek Starfleet Collection". It seems weird that a line of repackaged regular ships will also be where new XL ships are released.

Got the Relay Station 47 today. Not one on my wish list, but I am absolutely for stations being made. Hint Caretaker array....(seriously that should be made just for episode importance).
