When I first saw the listing for the video, I assumed it was the detachable cobra head used for separated shots (you can see it in that photo of the six foot, four foot, and two foot studio models), but it's actually just for the one close-up shot of the clamps retracting (or extending) just after separation (or just before reconnection).
