Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Did that just come out where you’re at? It came out a year ago in the UK.
It’s funny how some have to wait ages for ships while others don’t, and some don’t get them at all.

It never came out anywhere in NZ that I was aware of: so 2 of my 3 EM Trek purchases have been through BBTS, while my first was at my local comic book store - which sold out quickly and predominantly hasn't been able to acquire any more (except one voyager EM model, which I think was a special order a customer decided not to purchase...).

Also, as far as cash-flow is concerned, I usually only acquire an EM ship once, maybe twice a year - either as a birthday or Christmas pressie to myself! :P Thus far I have:

The Enterprise 1701-C (Yesterday's Enterprise)
The Kelvin Timeline Beyond Refit 1701-Enterprise
The Probert-Concept Enterprise 1701-C

Next on my lists, pending availability and lengthy time-frames: I plan on ordering the Phase II 1701 Enterprise, or perhaps either the USS Discovery, or USS Enterprise (Discovery version), or the Klingon D-7 (Kelvinverse)...

I pretty much travel at impulse speed, when it comes to EM purchases... ;)

I want everyone to know that I have a
Model of the enterprises ncc1701 that I have not put together. It came from AMT

the model I have came out way back in 1999, and I didn't put it together as my work horse

My model I am talking about here is a 33"
Ncc1701 large model.

Okay? Is there a purpose to saying you have this? Do you need advice on putting it together (which I'm sure others, far more knowledgeable than I) or that you just have it? (Which is cool)

As for the model continuation past 160, was there an official announcement, or did they just announce it on the down low by releasing images of issue 161?

No I don't, think you. I am useing it as my 50' model out of cardboard paper model.

IIRC, there was an announcement a while back about the line expanding to 180.

As for the other thing, best not to respond, historically.

Still prefer the Aventine. The Till looks a bit weird around the nacelle area.
After 2 months I finally got my next Discovery subscription with the Edison. It’s a okay ship but it still looks like a next gem ship. The next ship is hideous though. I don’t see how that got past the producers. I know they have questionable taste but that was is truly awful.

Yeah, who knows. I haven't seen the USS Emmett Till in full yet. But what we have seen yet of her, I love! It's IMO a better spiritual successor of Ken Adams "Titans"-Enterprise than the USS Discovery. I really don't like the Aventine though. It just doesn't work with me, at all.

I think it’s been a good two months since my retailer got any Star Trek shipments from Eaglemoss, including my orders. Last ship was Baran’s Raider, last DSC ship was the Shran.

On the one hand, this is giving me time to complete the shelves I need to build. On the other hand, WHERE THE HELL ARE MY SHIPS???

I don't remember that, I remember that it was said that they had assets upto 180, but wasn't sure if they'd go beyond 160. Which got people speculating on the end of the line.
yes, back in may at MCM comic con, someone on the FB group posted the following about the numbered issues situation:
STSS line has ships and assets created for 180 standard issues but ship toolings have only been created for "Not many past 160", so far. If 180 doesn't happen, these models could be released as bonus issues but no commitments were made for either line, at this time; But EM was very clear that even if the numbered collection ends, Star Trek ships will continue. Don't freak if it does end.
grain of salt, but that's the rumor.

speaking of comic cons...

according to startrek.com, SDCC 2019 will feature the reveal of "Matt Jefferies Shuttle Concept Bonus Issue, and the Star Trek Phase II Shuttle Concept Bonus Issue" at eaglemoss' booth, along with "reveals" of other ships that have already been revealed, like the XL excelsior, XL runabout, the klingon raider, and the altair.

quick google search of those concepts resulted in this for the TOS concept:

and this for the phase II concept (though it's credited to john eaves, so maybe not):

I’m not going to SDCC but I am going to the con in Las Vegas starting on the 30th. Eaglemoss usually has a presence there & sometimes a panel.

I hope to be able to see some of the coming items then & post pics.

Just seems like a lot of "concept" ships being made when there are still actual on-screen ships that haven't been produced yet. Hard to get excited for these, especially since it's been literally MONTHS since I've received any subscription ships.

Nice, I always wanted a model of the original Jefferies shuttle. It always seemed more keeping with the overall TOS design aesthetic than the butter dish.

And I think that Eaves one is in the Phase II book (i think maybe it's an illustration of Jeffries' Phase II design).

i feel like the concept ships are a pet project of ben or someone at eaglemoss. i know it’s something that was appealing to me in theory but execution not so much. the probert enterprise-c is probably the only worthwhile one of the bunch, even the phase II enterprise was worthy of a model, but the model itself didn’t turn out so great.

they should expend fewer resources on clunky ass excelsior concepts and put them towards actually getting us those son’a ships, or a decent borg cube, or a yridian battleship, or the kelvin timeline fleet ships, or the
Eaglemoss: Beyond Enterprise 1701-A pleeeease?

:D
XL.

The Linprise would be neat. That and the rest of the movie ships like the Son’na fleet.
There’s also a particular ship in First Contact that hasn’t been done yet. :)

Is that the Norway? I think they lost the assets for that, but it's such a simple design that it would be easy enough to replicate. Certainly easier than rendering the Merchantman or all these non-existant ships from scratch!
