Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Did they ever do the Jupp from the Frankenfleet? It was the one with a Connie refit saucer and neck, and two nacelles attached to the torpedo bay. Looked a bit like an updated Saladin. That was probably my favourite of the Frankenfleet.
No, they never did that one, sadly. Nor have they done the Hutzel, Elkins or Bradford. They never did the Raging Queen variant, either, but probably only because they already did the Curry and figured that one was similar enough. There are also a number of ships at the Qualor II junkyard from Unification that they haven’t done yet, particularly that weird flying saucer thing, but I doubt we’ll ever see those.

The concept art ships are mainline. The shuttles aren’t. I think they should shut down the line, and the existing subs, and go to selling them in their store only, because that’s really what’s happened anyway.

Actually no, concepts ships are all exclusive/bonus editions. The mainline collection is ships that appeared on screen only:

As I said, they're a bit cheeky though: The Excelsior study model was seen parked in the spacedock (in both TSFS and TNG), and in TNG's shipyard wreckage. That's why they count it as "on screen" ship. Which is IMO debatable, but since they're doing other background ships as well (like the Frankenfleet), at least they're consistent.

Trouble you say...?! Like it going on FOUR MONTHS since I've received a single subscription ship!! This is more than a little "pressure" and now bordering on incompetence! I've emailed and called several times and it's always the same generic answer, "They're Out-of-Stock right now but will ship out immediately when back-in-stock." Yet most of those "Out-of-Stock" ships are available on their website!!! It's been so long since I've received anything that it's becoming easier for me to just say enough is enough and just stop collecting altogether. It's like I've stopped already! ..... and yes, I'm getting really frustrated! :brickwall:

Holy shit, that's not good!
To be honest - I have no idea. I'm not a subscriber. I just check only which ships I might like, and pick those individually from a store. The only troubles I know of are people complaining here. But holy cow! That's really not acceptable.

I read somewhere that the saucer was from another sci-fi series, (V, possibly?) and if so they wouldn't be able to do it.

I'm definitely not saying that isn't true, but they've already done at least one ship already that was from another property and studio. (The Promellian Cruiser from Booby Trap was originally made for and featured in Night of the Creeps.)

Personally I think they should attempt to acquire the FJ designs from his estate before going after the more ultra-obscure designs that only a small handful of Treknologists would recognize. Once the license was secured, making the models would be simple, as 90% of the components would already be available from the TOS Connie masters, just rearranged. They would open up the market to the SFB wargaming crowd, provided they haven’t already gotten into it by now and EVERYONE knows FJ’s work. :)

I wasn't aware of that. I guess it means it's probably fair game too.

i have a hard time finding ships in los angeles (which is shocking given the size of the city and the fact that it's geared toward the entertainment industry, that's a whole other conversation). but whenever i go back to my hometown, i visit the hobby shop that usually has a vast array of star trek starships. 3-4 years ago, i'd walk in and there would be a wall of enterprise-Ds, romulan warbirds, klingon battlecruisers, ferengi marauders, etc.

today i walked in and there was a small shelf with vidiian ships, federation holo-ships (marked down to $12), various vulcan shuttles from enterprise, and promellien battlecruisers and i thought "man this collection needs to end".

I’m very selective with these. It still bothers me how much they screwed the pooch on the XL 1701-A. Haven’t bought anything from them since.

I received the XL Danube-class runabout last Saturday. It's neat, but it is still missing some details on the cockpit section. I would have expected those details on a model larger and more expensive than the original release.

They're awesome! Look amazingly retro. Though maybe a bit too clean...?

So....shuttle concepts are in the mainline, but actual shuttles aren’t.
Ok.
That cements it really. Subscribers are for dumping the shit that wont sell well by itself on basically.

Are they confirmed as mainline? I doubt it. I'm pretty sure those will be specials.

I guess that all depends on if we (subscribers) actually get them or not. Of late, such reliability has been in question. Bigly.
