Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Yeah, I had the US Fanhome site still open on my browser. The browser automatically reloaded the site when I opened it and the site showed it in stock.

Went ahead and grabbed it. See if it gets delayed the the Archimedes did.

for the starship blueprint/bts fans, MR is starting a new “Starship Briefing” series. The first one will be USS Athena, from the description, doesn’t appear to be a book but a portfolio with individual sheets.

The Defiant is issue 24... but where are issues 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, and 23?
Also, they're still using that picture of the inaccurate season 6 CG model for the cover.

My Armstrong came today (along with the fixed Excelsior). Armstrong‘s base works much better than the previous 32nd century ship, but the nacelles are a little disappointing. The tops and bottoms of the nacelles are supposed to flare open a bit and reveal additional engine detail, but the way it’s executed it just looks like they weren’t glued together properly (as there’s a gap that lets you see assembly pegs inside the nacelle, like you would if they weren’t pushed down into place before the glue set). I sort of wonder if original there was to be a larger clear blue plastic piece that would have had the additional detail, filled the nacelle and hidden the pegs, but it got cost-cut along the way.

That being said, since this model is a Constitution class ship, I fully expect to see a USS Enterprise NCC-1701-whatever reuse of the mold eventually.

New Master Replicas newsletter came out today. Main Trek related things are the book about rebuilding the 1701-D bridge for PIC (maybe we talked about it before, but I’m not sure how they’re getting an entire “book” out of that topic, although maybe it’s one of those extended pamphlet “books” like comes with the library ships) and a light up MSD of the TOS Enterprise, which uses the Drexler cutaway from ENT. That saves me $125, as I’m not all that interested in a “TOS” thing from ENT. I was hoping they’d do the bridge turbolift alcove diagram, since that’s about the closest TOS actually got to an MSD. That diagram would have also been a nice companion piece for their bridge plaque.

Fanhome finally has the Excelsior up for individual order so I went ahead and grabbed it. I got the Drexler in right about a week so here’s hoping the same is set for Excelsior.

They also put up the listings for the Dresselhaus and Aledo. Cool to see the pictures. But the Aledo is probably the last one I buy.

Looks like they also added the JJ-prise and Delta Flyer to the re-release section.

I haven't seen pictures of the Fanhome re-release of the XL Excelsior yet, but so far I think they haven't made any changes to the Eaglemoss models. So it's still going to be the DS9 (CG) version, which seems to be mostly based on the VOY Flashback miniature except for the secondary hull being taller.

Speaking of Stargate, the Destiny is now up for pre-order.

With a length of 22 cm it should be about the same scale as the SG Daedalus and the regular Eaglemoss Excelsior and Enterprise B models. I can't wait to see how they look together.

Unfortunately I still haven't received my Destiny. But, since the size of some other CG models from Stargate has recently been revealed:

Romulan D'deridex: 1353m / 1:10022
Asgard Beliskner: 1600m / 1:10738

Enterprise D: 641m / 1:4612
Asuran cruiser: 950m / 1:4460
