Spoilers Star Trek: Scouts Discussion Thread

They really do the same story every episode
Namely, "A stranger comes to town." Very Deep Space Nine of them.

Though arguably most Trek is prone to that over "A man goes on a journey," at least viewing the hero ship as the "stranger" in question.

Though I don't think DS9 has this much asteroid blasting, unless something was going on with that comet from the credits that was going over my head.

Preschoolers NEED that sense of stability ... of predictability.

It gives them a sense of security.
I don't recall every episode of Sesame Street or Mr. Rogers being a nearly identical clone.

Ironic that the show's mantra is "Discover. Grow." Doesn't seem like much discovery or growth going on with the stagnant story format.

I don't know what Scouts' mission is.

It's not that long since my son was preschool age (he just turned 12), and I had to watch a lot if inane kids shows with him as a toddler. I don't remember many which had the exact same plot over and over. Sure, shows like Paw Patrol, Blaze, or Rusty Rivets had very formulaic plot structures, but I don't remember them being quite this formulaic. This feels a bit more like a Blues Clues level - a show aimed at toddlers, rather than preschool-age kids.
