Star Trek Rotten Tomatoes Rating

This is great :).

I've been checking RT periodically. Seeing the movie on Wednesday :)

Yeah, I think anyone still on the fence about seeing the movie should just read that JoeBlo review. One of the most straightforward and promising reviews of the whole lot.

At this point, RT has reviews from non-fans, casual fans, and hardcore fans, and it's still at 100%. I really hope people go to see this; I have a feeling that if they do, they will like it - the key is, will they overcome their prejudices and go?

When the worst review so far says the movie "is too full of itself," that's pretty damn good for a STAR TREK film in this day and time.

Great review from New York magazine:

If you care about this universe (and I do, damn it), you won’t sit passively through J.J. Abrams’s restart Trek. You’ll marvel at the smarts and wince at the senselessness. You’ll nitpick it to death and thrill to it anyway.

Because, in the end, what choice is there? The first generation of Trekkers is elderly or gone to that most final of frontiers, the next generation is up in years, and the most memorable thing about the generation after that was the Borg with big breasts whose distaste for sex clubs helped elect Barack Obama.

:guffaw:

Yeah, really. The Obama is smooth; Damian would have just used demonic rottweilers.

Its getting a bit boring now! I want someone to trash the film just to read something different.

Common human reaction...people actually like the negative stuff. One reason why I don't take the ST:Nemesis bashing too seriously for example. If everything were positive for Trek, we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves.
