Star Trek: Prodigy Finds New Home At Netflix

I hope because it's on Netflix it remains kid/family friendly. I think one of the reasons why I do like the series a lot is because there is not swearing and it's very accessible to everyone. If it does get a third season, I hope it maintains that accessibility.
Why would it being on netflix change any of that?
They're just the distributor

Well if you had a choice of being stuck in San Francisco (if it even still exists in the 32nd century) with generic sci-fi aliens and settings which are not quite Star Trek, or adventuring with Admiral Janeway in the 24th century on board the USS Voyager A along with a load of other returning legacy stars, familiar settings and aliens… I know which one I would find most exciting.

SFA isn't gonna be in SF. Earth rejoined after it re-opened.

Perhaps the Academy is located on a ship? The Voyager J if in the 32nd century, in honour of the Voyager A in Prodigy which is training Dal and the Gang. :D

An intriguing possibility ... :techman:

It would allow for interstellar adventures.

Technically, in such a scenario, there could be a Robert Picardo Doctor EMH at the very least and other department/specialist training holograms based on legacy characters…. Legacy characters from *any* point in Star Trek history.

Prodigy had holo Janeway… 32nd century Academy on board the Voyager J could have holo-anyone!

IIRC, the implication in Disco S4 is that Starfleet Academy in the 32nd century is attached to Starfleet Command, so that will likely be the case in the Academy series. It'll allow them to save money and hold onto the HQ sets from Disco.

I think this is a good point and a good bet.

We know the backup holodoc existed in the 31st century, and was trying get home. Maybe we'll find out that he eventually made it.
Robert Picardo stars in STAR TREK: FLY AWAY HOME, a 12 part mini-series about the holographic doctor's adventures through the Delta Quadrant, to the Gamma Quadrant accumulating several items and stories in his spaceship.

gets almost all the way home, and then his dilithium explodes due to a crappy plot point he didn’t know anything about…

I always assumed (well, maybe not "always" the last few years anyway) that the backup Doctor's journey home was cut dramatically short when his ship was destroyed in the Burn.
