Star Trek: Prodigy Finds New Home At Netflix

As others have noted, if Netflix is happy with the results of the show and is willing to (co)fund new episodes after S2, they may well order 10 episodes (or even 8) as a season 3, and if that does well again 10 for a season 4.

If you know any Netflix subscribers, definitely recommend PRO to them. Especially if they're Trekkies, or have kids. Or especially both.

I hope because it's on Netflix it remains kid/family friendly. I think one of the reasons why I do like the series a lot is because there is not swearing and it's very accessible to everyone. If it does get a third season, I hope it maintains that accessibility.

But where should we apply?

@fireproof78 are you making these infographics on your phone? You need to crop the white bit out before you let people retweet them.
If you have to ask, then you are not ready for it yet.

I don't do the Tweeting thing. The croping effect wouldn't save right. So I went with it.

I would never be ready for the Academy as they are too fussy and pompous about who they let in, I would probably have to be like Dal and made a warrant officer. But I wouldn’t care as long as Janeway was my mentor and I got to serve on the USS Voyager A instead of the boring Academy!

Who says the Academy is boring?

Well if you had a choice of being stuck in San Francisco (if it even still exists in the 32nd century) with generic sci-fi aliens and settings which are not quite Star Trek, or adventuring with Admiral Janeway in the 24th century on board the USS Voyager A along with a load of other returning legacy stars, familiar settings and aliens… I know which one I would find most exciting.

Thanks.

Give me the Academy. These characters are not necessarily legacy to me while I'm getting to learn about Starfleet and training to work on a ship. That's my whole interest is to grow and become more, not relish in some hero worship.

What makes it not quite Star Trek?

WTF?

But should our teachers not be heroes to us? Inspirational role models with field experience which they can pass on at the Academy? If this show is geared toward a new and younger audience, then it would be good for the younger audience to watch Academy with their parents, who in turn could be drawn in to this show by the presence of familiar 24th century cast which they grew up with such as Admiral Janeway. Picard could even show up. Then the adults could explain the back story to these legacy characters rather than the writers having to. :D

Things like the N’Var and stupid looking Ferengi?

I wonder if they'll take other viewing numbers into account (or if they'll even have access to them?) for those of us in countries where it won't be showing on Netflix?

Netflix will only look at their own numbers, except maybe if they are planning to take over rights for countries they don't yet have the rights for at present.

However, if CBS also sells to other parties (and if they still plan to come with a Blu-ray set that they get income from) they will presumably take this into account when considering to co-fund, to some degree, S3 along with Netflix.
