I actually enjoyed Dal's antics in Janeway's body (but I have to agree with you that given his behavior, the Dauntless crew would have never allowed him to go on for as long as he had - especially after spitting out coffee and saying out loud 'how can she drink this stuff?').

Although as David Mack mentioned with Riker in Star Trek: Coda, they are flag officers. It's not supposed to be easy to just remove them.

In fairness, I am willing to make allowances because SF adheres to the scientific method - aka, they needed to be sure she was behaving extremely off... or, at least, needed a medical diagnosis/reason to do so.
But, Dr. Noum should have probably relieved 'her' of duty the moment she spit out the coffee and said :'ugh, how can she drink this stuff'?

Also, one other thing... why didn't Dal just mention to the crew he's from the Protostar and that this was the only way to try and contact the Dauntless crew?

It may have prompted Ascensia to act even sooner, and she could have shot Janeway (stunning her) and throwing her into the brig... but then Dal would have to speak to the First Officer or Dr. Noum and convince them he has no ill intent and this was just an accident.

A 9 - much better than last week. I laughed out loud when I saw the expressions on the Starfleet officers' faces when Dal was in Janeway's body. :D

Finally, the Prodigy crew are on the same page as Admiral Janeway. I liked hat it was all done in a creative way.

Fantastic episode. So exciting and mad to see characters do a spacewalk while at warp. This show makes me love Janeway and makes me more nostalgic for Voyager than I ever could have imagined. It's an incredibly tightly written show firing on all cylinders.

Huh.. No bridge window for the dauntless? A regular viewscreen! Woohoo.

I don't know why, but massive bridge windows seem like a massive structural weakness to me... though, its possible that SF managed to improve upon aluminum's properties to make it as strong as the rest of the hull (but even if they had... I'd feel somehow 'exposed').
:D

Having the bridge on Deck one is a structural weakness. As seen in "Twilight".

When I envisioned Voyager as generational ship, I put its nursery in the middle of Deck 8, so that no matter what kind of pummeling the ship took, it would be protected. But practically speaking, the bridge should be there. Or maybe on 6 or 7... somewhere in the middle anyway.

Yeah, the bridge at the top is a huge tactical failure. A window is not going to add or take away from that poor choice.
