Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

The Q are Omniscient.

They know everything they have done and everything that they will do.

The Q are also omnipresent.

They have all been the scarecrow.

I was thinking in terms of him hanging out and dealing with a serious issue and maybe you get Ian McKellan and Maggie Smith and others. You rarely get shows with a mostly older cast. Not sure how that is ageist.

Hoping something like this happens next episode.

NotDucane tells Guinan and Picard their interrogation is over. But before he can have them transferred to a holding cell somewhere "downtown", another officer comes in, informing them their lawyer is here. G&P glance at each other, baffled.

Q saunters in, briefcase swinging, wearing a sharp suit and demanding to see the evidence against "his clients". When NotDucane obliges, Q says, "Thanks, Ducane. Oh, I'm sorry. I must have you confused with somebody infinitely more interesting."

NotDucane grumbles as he leaves. Q shakes his head, looking at his frenemies.

"Now, shall we get down to business? I did get your "call", but things are... delayed around here. Time, the future, Ubers... You can put your claws away, are you going by Guinan again? Jean-Luc, how was the nap?"
Queen Agnes should come after them Terminator style

At this point I'm kind of done with these characters. The first few episodes had promise, but now my interest is waning. I like Rios, but that's about it. I'm ready to see the TNG cast have their big farewell in season 3, and then have the show end.
I'd kind of like to see a cigar smoking Captain Rios on the Stargazer series. I'd also like to see more Seven. So, I'm glad she's reportedly in PIC S3. I thought she was particularly good in S1 and then underused in S2.

Rios and Raffi... oh, and Elnor all are very generic characters to me.

Jurati and Laris/Tallinn have some mystery. Same with all Isa Briones' iterations.

Who doesn't like Picard, Seven, Q and a Borg Queen? Or another Soong?

I wish Renee wasn't a plot device.

And the doctor and her child are pretty stale, too.

If they retcon the Eugenics Wars being the beginning of World War 3 in this season of Picard (in the official Star Trek timeline World War 3 starts in 2026.....two years after the events of this season), what would you all think if Khan appears at the end of this season and makes a business proposition to Adam Soong telling him that he will pay him a lot of money to fund his genetic experiments, basically starting the well-known story of Khan and his group of super people?

Good idea? Bad idea?

I have a feeling this has talked about already in this thread so if it has, I apologize ahead of time.

Khan is a genetic experiment though, so really Soong should be creating him. I'm not keen on retcons though, so I'm going to vote 'bad idea'.

Oh wait, Khan was born as a superhuman you mean? Huh, all this time I thought he was a normal guy for a while (a rich businessman and/or leader of a small nation) who got genetically enhanced in the middle of his life. But if he was born genetically enhanced then forget what I said. :)

Greg Cox novels say that he's a test tube baby, who was born superior.

Into Darkness tie in comics say that Khan was a teen slumdog who was kidnapped by an evil Indian corporation, and experimented on.

Even the Kelvin Timeline confirmed Khan and his wars were in the late 20th century. They're not retconning the dates.

Running out of enthusiasm to watch. First five weeks, it was Thursday evening. Last week, it was Friday night. This week? Still haven’t gotten around to it. I think the evil Soongs are wearing on me.
