Re-watching the episode, and the crew interactions at the end, it does appear that the TNG crew did indeed serve on the D for that year. Counselor Troi and Data in their final session looked to be on board a starship. It looked like the Titan, rather than the D, but they would not have rebuilt a D corridor for the couple second shot that we see when Riker arrives. Troi looking at vacation destinations implies that they've been busy working.
agreed. But that’s no surprise with only ten episodes and plenty of already developed characters to focus on.Other than LaForge ( who has a leg up) I don't even recall their names. I guess Esmar is one? But which one?
